Turku Castle, Southwest Finland, Finland

Unique 700-year-old historical monument
In addition to the Turku Cathedral, this medieval castle is the second landmark in Turku. It is located next to the Port of Turku. There is so much to explore. We had just 1½ hour time and we had to hurry because the museum was closing at 18:00. Also, you have to be quite fit. There are so many stairs up and down.

Amazing medieval castle in Turku
Very nice medieval castle with lots of rooms to explore. We had a nice afternoon viewing the medieval and renaissance floors, as well as exploring the exhibition on historical clothing and items. Very good price for what you get, would recommend to anyone coming to Turku!

Nice spot to explore
Not as grand as some of the other castles you might see in Europe but it's a nice spot with a really interesting history to learn about. Especially great for a rainy day as you could easily spend at least an hour here if you were interested in Finnish history. We were a large group and got a private guided tour on top of admission which was brilliant, would definitely recommend doing this as our guide was really lovely and did a great job of contextualising everything we saw and made the whole experience entertaining (unfortunately I didn't get her name but she was amazing!) Only warning would be that some of the steps and hallways as you walk through the castle can be small or steep or winding so watch out for that if you struggle with mobility!
