Great nature dioramas

A refreshing old style museum. Dioramas are something that modern people find actually quite exotic as they are so used to their flat screens...

Great for visitors of all ages
This is a place I enjoy visiting time after time. While the main exhibition remains the same, this time the museum featured an exhibition about the Baltic Sea, which was very interesting. The permanent exhibition is set up according to seasons and various different natural areas within Finland (e.g. Lapland vs. the archipelago). Museum shop had a very nice range of related products. Easily accessible on foot or public transportation.

One of our favourite museums in Turku
The biological museum of Turku is a small, historic museum in a beautiful wooden villa, purpose-built for this museum in 1907. The museum is still very much like it was more than a 110 years ago! A perfect little gem for architecture lovers, those who love history (a possibility to see a museum like museums were built a 100 years ago) - but also a nice glimpse of Finnish wildlife for the nature lovers. Great for kids, too!
