Experience both Finnish nature and the tropical rainforest throughout the year! The collection of over 5,000 plant species is a living display of the diversity of the plant kingdom. In the 6 greenhouses, you will experience the heat and scents of the tropics and see species ranging from tiny groundcover plants to the highest trees of the rainforest. Ornamental subtropical plants bring a breath of Mediterranean air, living fossils take you to the past, and the drought-resistant succulents surprise with their ability to adapt. In the outdoor gardens (23 hectares), the landscape changes with the four seasons. There are guided tours of the gardens and estate everyday in the summer - but this 'the 12 presidents' is a special tour to commemorate Finland's 100 years of independence. The tour is on Wednesdays only - at 1pm - and available in Finnish, Swedish and English.(13€) It was really interesting and informative - with snippets of information about each of the presidents and their time at the summer residence. No need to book ahead - and groups are divided to be 35people or less. Note the gardens are open to the public (free) on Friday evenings 6-8pm only.See more..
The place is known for varieties of flowers, plants and vegetables. A small cafe is a good addition to the site. Lovely display of gradening with so many colourful flowers everywhere. One my favourite place in Jakobstad.See more..

This is a great visit on a sunny day (when the rhododendrons are in bloom), and suitable for people of all ages. Area features a nice park with benches and a very sweet pink coffee shop with seating. Very beautiful place, and offers a chance for some walking while marveling at the flowers. Reserve 1-2 hours for a calm stroll and some photography.See more..
