Kemiönsaari area is one of my favourite places in Finland. During my business trip, we got a lunch at the perfect small restaurant/museum. Beautiful garden, kind staff, lovely atmosphere and very tasty lunch made of herring files, smashed potatoes and cold herb sauce. This place was one of my highlights this summer.

    Time traveling into Finland's history
The old buildings, guides dressed in an old-fashioned way and the provided museum-activities take you to another century. Good place to visit with or without children.

Open air old village museum specifically for kids
Large open air museum which consists of 50-100 years old village buildings. There are village school, farm houses, a manor and many more village houses. They are decorated in a style suited for that era. The school class was especially liked by our kids. A nice shop for memorabilia as well as very good cafe with lunch. The museum is free but if you like to attend a guided walk it costs some euros.
