When I was there, last week in mid April, it was not busy at all. No queue. The cable car therefore runs presumably less often, but I'm not sure. The price I found quite high; 80 LEI (16 euros) for a one-way trip, 150 LEI for a return. There were about 7 people in the cabin on my way up. It's an old cable car, but still runs smoothly. The views from a certain height, after passing through some clouds, were amazing. What a landscape: everything still covered in a lot of snow and once above the clouds, the sun is so enormously bright you cannot see proper than through a good pair of sun glasses. An amazing world of mountains, snow and sun awaits you. It is totally worth the price, I would highly recommend doing this. Only downside is, of course, that you cannot keep 1,5 m distance during COVID times. See more..
