    Mogosoaia Palace image
Beautifully restored palace on the outskirts of Bucharest, Mogosoaia Palace is located on the shores of a lake. It was built in the early 18'th century by prince Constantin Brancoveanu in the uniquely Romanian architectural style that bears his name: "brancovenesc". The interior is interesting with contemporary artefacts. One room has the floor made of tiny "sandwiches" of glass with gold foil between them. See more..

  3. 4.0 Princely Court (81 reviews)
    - Fun & educational

    Princely Court image
What a fun afternoon! Visiting the ruins was truly a wonderful day. It's inexpensive to get into the park and you get to see the church, the ruins, the library and all the grounds. The court was cool and eerie, with remnants of history sprinkled everywhere, including a few torture devices. Recently there have been some upgrades that include an historical look at how the damage was sustained, heads of state who visited, unearthing news parts and it was all educational and exciting. Took so many photos and learned a lot. Great for the whole family or a couple. See more..
  4. 4.0 George Enescu Memorial House (62 reviews)
    - A piece of the famous composer personality
Thursday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Historic Sites
    George Enescu Memorial House image
We visited this place early morning and this is because the museum closes at 4 pm with the last entry at 3:30 pm (we found this very unhappy all the more we were going to ski and, of course, there was no time to come earlier/then, the visit takes 15 minutes or so and closing it 30 minutes before official closing is just like they cannot wait to go home in spite of the visitors interest). Anyhow, the museum well worth a visit as it was the summer residence of the Romanian famous composer Georges Enescu until its final departure from Romania in 1946 when the communists seized the power after WWII. It is the place were Queen Mary of Romania was attending the small group private concerts of Enescu. The sculpture in the courtyard was made by Ion Irimescu. The lack of acces to the working rooms of Enescu in the attick and the location of his original piano in room not allowed for visitors are again very strange decisions none can understand. See more..

    - Amazing small church

    Biserica Olari image
The Church of the Assumption - Potters, dated before 1687, represents an original combination of models with local innovations: a rectangular plan, similar to some Moldavian churches, finished in polygonal apses. It has a polygonal narthex, covered with a perforated vault of cylindrical telescopes, while above the nave there is a dome in a broken section. The exterior frescoes were made by a local craftsman in 1869. The beauty of the Potters church, the uniqueness of the paintings and the mystery that floats around it are serious reasons to make you curious and to reserve from your time, tourists, the admiration of this small church.
