The Capuchin church of Our Lady of Lourdes was built from 1904 until 1929 in accordance with plans by engineers Giovanni Maria Curet and Cornelio Budinich. The modestly conceived neo-Gothic building ordered by the nuns of the Jesus Heart Institute was soon replaced by a monumentally conceived church in honour of the magical cure of the guardian of the capuchin monastery, father Bernardin Škrivanić in Lourdes. It was built as a double neo-Gothic basilica with rich polychrome art carried out in the Lombard fashion. In the beginning, in 1907, the church of the Our Lady of Sorrows was built followed by the 70 metre-long church of Our Lady of Lourdes from 1914 until 1929. The sanctuary was decorated with polychrome stained glasses, and the church’s front facades and altar plaster were decorated by the Venetian sculptor Urbano Bottasso and Rijeka carver, Antonio Marietti. Frescoes in the interior were painted by the famous Rijeka painter, Romolo Venucci. Although the 75 metre-high lighthouse was never built on the church, it became an unavoidable sign for all passengers.See more..
4.5Church on San Marino Island(33 reviews) - Great, have a swim to the island, visit the island, swim around it... Churches & Cathedrals
Only 205 m from Novi lies a small island of san Marino. In the past it was used as the fishing spot for tuna, but today there is only a Gothic church here, dedicated to St. marin, after which the island got its name. This church was most probably built on the foundations of a bigger old Croatian church, the remains of which were found during archeological excavations. A stone fragment from the 3rd or 4th c., discivered on the island, bears an inscriptions mentioning Roman empress Helena.See more..

The church’s interior is decorated with baroque sculptures created by Jacopo Contiero, Giovanni and Leonardo Paccassi, Pasuale Lazzarini, Antonio Michelazzi, Sebastian Petruzzi and with stucco works created by Giulio Quario. To be honest we have'nt been to many times in an orthodox temple, because in our country they are pretty rare. So the visit of the temple was a big and nice experience. Entering the church from the busy street there is a big contrast to it. Everithing is quiet, nice and phenomenal impressive. Simple amaizing.See more..

Written in different languages (the same names!), each of them telling you the story of all the people coming to this island and mostly - leaving it. Perfect for a short walk. See more..
Built at the end of the 15th c., this is a Gothic chapel with vaultd ceiling. Quite recently, an effort has been launched to arrange a collection of sacral exhibits in this church. Among other exhibits, worth seing in that collection will be "The First Breviary of Novi" from 1495, "The Missal of Novi" from 1474 and "The Second Breviary of Novi" from 1494. Experts claim that this small church counts among town chapels, while the others count among suburban or country chapels.See more..

5.0St. James kirke(3 reviews) - Santiago, Sveti Jakov, St James Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Churches & Cathedrals
It took me quite a time to realise that this is the name of the same saint on different languages. When I entered the church, I was wondering why is there a sculpture of a man with a hat at the altar? I didn’t recognise St. James. In Croatia they call him Saint Jakov. A small church, very cosy. Full on Sundays for mass, everybody fighting for airSee more..
