Rocks or sand? You choose. Sea color is beautiful and clean, never saw plastics. During winter and spring is perfect for a walk but during tourism is impossible to access cause is really full and you got no parking. Bar, market, restaurant, boats, playground. This place got most things and is great. City is cute and gardens are well made. Worth a visit See more..

Park your car on the street and find a way down. There are many ways down to the beach; we took the one marked with blue spray paint (near the artificial retaining wall out of stone). Wear sneakers or boots - not flip flops! It will take you 5 - 15 minutes up/down depending on your fitness. Not suited for strollers! The water was pristine! The beach has small pebbles/gravel with patches of sand. Easy entry into the water without any steep drops. No urchins, no jellyfish at least in June. You can rent umbrella and chairs for 100 Kuna. There’s also a beach-bar which opens around 10:30, haven’t tried it though. No sanitary facilities. See more..

    Lokvarsko jezero image
Lokvarsko jezero (Lake Lokve) is an artificial lake, situated about 30 kilometers from Rijeka in an idyllic natural landscape, near a small village Lokve in Gorski Kotar. It was created from the former Lokvarka River, in 1955, as a part of a hydropower system. It perfectly fits into the natural environment and is one of the favorite spots for athletes and recreationists, especially fishermen, because with its forty meters of depth it is rich with fish, mostly chub, carp and trout (the biggest trout in the world was caught here in 1973, weighing an incredible 25.4 kilograms). It is a beautiful place for walking and relaxing with an excellent restaurant on its shore (Restaurant “Eva”) where you can enjoy local food in a peaceful atmosphere with a great view on the lake. 4. 4.5 Bay of Bakar (4 reviews)
    - Nice and interesting

    Bay of Bakar image
The biggest bay of the northern Adriatic is one kilometer wide and almost five kilometers long, with two small towns located at each end of the bay, Bakar and Bakarac. In spite of the closed coke factory, which polluted the area for years, and the port for coal and bulk cargo at the center of the bay, the whole area is still very picturesque site and Bakar is small (with one thousand and five hundred inhabitants) but very interesting town with a long history. Lake Bajer image
There are three artificial lakes in the area of Fužine, which is particularly rich in water, that serve as reservoirs for hydroelectric purposes. The oldest lake, Bajer, was built in 1952. It is located in what used to be an attractive small river Ličanka and its valley in the immediate vicinity of Fužine. The lake is suitable for boating, canoeing, kayaking and windsurfing due to its frequent wind circulation. An attractive footpath was built around the lake, and there is also the opportunity to go sightseeing in a tourist boat. The place can be overcrowded with visitors from Rijeka and other surrounding places, especially during the weekends or holidays, but it is well worth the visit! See more..

  7. 5.0 Lake Lepenica (1 review)
    - The largest lake in the area
    Bodies of Water
    Lake Lepenica image
Lake Lepenica is the largest among the three lakes in the Fužine area. That were built for the hydroelectric purposes. The greatest depth of the lake is around twenty meters and it is very pleasant in summer for swimming, because the water temperature is usually over 23 degrees. The lake is very rich with fish and it is a beloved spot for anglers. It is also a well known venue for competitions in underwater orienteering. Anyway, this is a natural addition to Lake Bajer and a beautiful footpath around both lakes is perfect for walking and relaxation. See more..
