So beautiful, we regretted nit staying there a few nights. We only went for a stroll and regretted it, even if it was slightly raining, the view was astonishing, very nice beach promenade, lots of restaurants and it looks like lots of accommodations . 2. 4.0 Goli Otok (47 reviews)
    - instructive place
    Historic Sites • Islands
    Goli Otok image
Very instructive place where you can see the negative consequences of the communist regime in the former Yugoslavia. It is unfortunate that the place is devastated (be careful not to step on broken glass or wire or something similar ). It is shame that is not regulated as a memorial and educational center. In a movie theater is showing a short instructional movie with subtitles (11 minutes, and the ticket price is 10 kuna). You can take small train ride ( excursion train ) from side to side of the island and the ticket price is 30 kuna. I recommend that you take boat tour so you can also visit island Grgur where it was women's prison. See more..

    - A crumbling naval relic that isn't for everybody

    Old Torpedo–Launching Ramp image
The launching ramp from 1930s is an item belonging to the closed torpedo production factory. It is proof of the technical inventive of Rijeka during this period and at the same time is an important world landmark of industrial heritage. The torpedo factory was founded on the outline of ideas by Rijeka inhabitant, Giovanni Luppis with regard to a defence weapon known as the “saviour of the shore”. Luppis was engaged with his idea at the beginning of 1860s, without success. Fortunately, the idea interested Robert Whitehead, the director of the Rijeka Technical Institute. Based on Luppis’ idea, Whitehead developed a solution that resembled a metal fish and called it torpedo. The prototype was tested in 1866 and in 1875 the Institute became the R. Whitehead & Co. Torpedo Factory. It was the first torpedo factory in the world. The ramp, which dates back to 1930, simulated the launching of projectiles from ships and planes. See more..

    Historic Sites
    Kvadrac image
The town/village is built on a small hill and is really pitoresque to watch the sea from narow streets with beautifull old houses. There are many places to eat or drink, shop or just have a quite walk. I really enjoyed this place. The sea is as everywhere in Croatioa - Novi Vinodolski faced Krk island, so there is no broad perspective over the water. See more..

    Memorial Center Lipa Pamti image
A very touching memorial center that reminds us of the events of WWII, when the Nazis killed 269 locals, including 72 children, and burned the entire village on April 30, 1944. The remains of some burnt houses can still be seen in the village, and the events from that time are presented in a suitable way in the museum. Highly recommended! See more..
