instructive place
Very instructive place where you can see the negative consequences of the communist regime in the former Yugoslavia. It is unfortunate that the place is devastated (be careful not to step on broken glass or wire or something similar ). It is shame that is not regulated as a memorial and educational center. In a movie theater is showing a short instructional movie with subtitles (11 minutes, and the ticket price is 10 kuna). You can take small train ride ( excursion train ) from side to side of the island and the ticket price is 30 kuna. I recommend that you take boat tour so you can also visit island Grgur where it was women's prison.

Patos Logic Guided tour
I recomend the guided tour by Patos Logic. Great explaination of the island's prison's history by a local resident, worth its price. The island itself is nowadays unfortunately more or less in ruins, however the guide will explain the reason why it is this way as well.

Goli Otok Express Tour
Just short enough - did not need to spend more time than from 10 a.m. to noon on this tour. Great guide and we’ll recommend this tour to anyone visiting there. Yes, the buildings are abandoned and not too touristy but what do people expect !? - I read some comments and honestly those people need to go elsewhere if they are picky about stuff like this. If people need more information, it is easy to find it online and we had WiFi during our visit anyway to look up anything we wanted to check on. All in all - worth it!
