The park is huge and has several buildings that can be visited. I recommend the Great Castle because it can see the architecture and life of Russia during Catherine the Second. The other two castles are ok, if you are interested in art be sure to visit them. There is a breathtaking golden hall in the Great Castle. Certainly the whole park is beautiful, in one part there is a lake around which one can remember and rest. There is a miniature museum in one section, but we have not visited it.See more..

It is a monument of industrial architecture of the early 20th century. The necessity to build a water tower appeared in the 1860s when the Vladimir running water system was constructed. According to the first project the water tower was to be placed inside the former church above the Golden Gate. This project was fortunately not realized. Later a wooden water tower was built on the Kozlov Val (medieval rampart). In 1912 the building was completely reconstructed according to the project of architect Sergei Zharov. The building is a three-tiered structure made of red brick in the Pseudo-Russian style. Windows serve as a decoration, among them there are double ones, of different height and shape in each tier. In the middle of the XII century, when the Vladimir-Suzdal Principality was ruled by the son of Yuri Dolgoruky Andrey Bogolyubsky, the Golden gate served as the main entrance, was a defensive structure and a triumphal arch. Covered with sheets of gilded copper, shining brightly in the sun, the gates amazed the imagination of contemporaries. In those days the city was surrounded by an extended shaft with five travel gates. The Golden gate is the only one that has survived to the present day. They were built in 1164 by princely masters in the technique of half-foot masonry, widely spread in Vladimir-Suzdal architecture. An archway offset by a strong semicircular arch. Really nice place if the weather is good, can get a good view of the city from the bell tower and there is a café to grab a beer, or a kvas. For us the best part was the period costumes you could rent for only 150 rubles. We got some really good photos looking like Ivan the Terrible!See more..

Spread like a fan, the the easr-west streets all point at the Bobrinsky Palace, now the Bogoroditsk Museum dedicated to the Counts Bobrinsky decendants of Katherine II. You can hardly pass a block or two without seeing the arquitectonic wonder od the palace and to marvel at the llanscaped combination of the palace separated from the city by a pond. Bogoroditsk can be seen in a few hours but I highly recommend making Bogoroditsk your base from which to visit the area, The associated museum of Bobriki, the village of Epiphan with its enourmous square and the Store museum will give you a good idea of what life was like prior to the revolution. Большая часть строений не сохранилась, туристам показывают главный усадебный дом, бывшую школу, Теремок, жемчужину комплекса, и церковь Святотго Духа, в оформлении которой принимал участие Николай Рерих. Очень рекомендую взять экскурсию или хотя бы аудиогид: узнаете много интересной информации о Марии Тенешевой, меценатке, просветительнице, очень талантливой и неординарной женщине, о самом поместье и, разумеется, об экспозиции. Без комментариев экскурсовода выставки в усадьбе, посвящённые просветительской деятельности княгини (по её инициативе была открыта школа для крестьянских детей с принципиально новым подходом к обучению), были бы не столь интересны и информативны. Теремок и храм шикарны сами по себе. Из того чего не хватает: сувенирного магазинчика. Comming from the muddy Yasnaya Polyana, which wasn't at its brightest in rainy April, I was pleasantly surprised by Turgenev Estate ain Spasskoye-Lutovinovo. The biggest obstacle is getting there, it's a bit off the main road, but after that you'll be welcome by nice staff, offering to do the tour in English if neccessary and all areas open. We had a private tour with a lovely guide who was able to answer many additional questions and was very pleasant throughout. The reconstructed house is beautiful as well as the gardens. The Parents’ memorial house This building was presented to the first cosmonaut’s parents by the USSR government in 1961. I had the good fortune to visit this museum many times over a 4.5 year span. The staff are mostly Russian speaking, with a small amount of English. If you are able to speak even a very small amount of Russian, you will be able to have some conversations. The staff is very cordial and try their best to inform you of important facets of the exhibit. The paintings are world class, causing me to search out Tkachev paintings in other museums as well. This Museum centres on a reconstruction of the Command Bunker of Konstantin Konstantinovich Rossokovsky, commander of the Central Front during Operation Zitadelle, the abortive german offensive of July 1943. In addition to the bunker, there is a an exhibition hall with displays covering the personnel, equipment and action of the command post during the battle. Outside there are , inevitably, monuments to the soldiers of the time, and a small display of military hardware, regrettably not all contemporary.
