Great park, gardens, fountains ... and local history! The Strelka is founded on the site where Prince Yaroslavl the Wise allegedly vaniquished a sacred bear in 1010; the prince was exploring the area with the intention of forming a settlement; the unhappy locals set the bear on him to discourage him! It didn't work .... the prince ... err., 'disposed' of the bear, and decided to form a settlement on the site to commemorate the event. Yaroslavl underwent major renovations prior to its 1000 year celebrations in 2010. A beautiful spot.See more..

This circular fountain with 15 gilded statues representing the former USSR states stands in the middle of the VDNH complex (read my detailed review on it). The fountain is terrific, although it wasn't working in mid April. It's made according to Peterhof palace fountains in St. Petersburg.See more..

Одной из современных достопримечательностей города является каскад фонтанов, который радует жителей города своим видом. Раньше этот спуск был достаточно унылым, просто много-много ступеней. Сейчас он приобрел другой вид.
Здесь приятно находится в теплое время года. Шум воды, вид поднимающихся струй воды, потоки воды бегущие вниз, подсветка в вечернее время суток - все это создает определенную атмосферу, сюда хочется приходить, сидеть у фонтанов, любуясь переливами воды, одному или компании. Когда в этом месте не орудует толпа подпитых, здесь вполне комфортно находиться. Но думаю, что такие есть в любом городе.
Зимой фонтаны закрывают световой инсталляцией. Она смотрится по новогоднему празднично и мило. Темнеет на улице рано, а здесь расцветают голубые зимние узоры.See more..
