I could stare at it all day!

This famous balcony in Innsbruck's historic neighborhood was constructed out of gold to honor the marriage of Maximilian I and his wife.

    Golden porch!
Nothing much to see really, but an interesting story behind it. The 600-year old golden roof doesn't even have much gold composition, but is made of fire-gilded copper tiles. Anyway, every visitor to Innsbruck seems obliged to visit and take a photo before moving on to other sights.

    A curiousity
The emperor Maximilian remarried at the end of the 1500 th centuary and because he didnt want to become enemies with Burgundy he protraited both his old and new wife on the building. He also let build the roof with some 1400 goldplated copper tiles that today draw 1000's of tourists. Located in the old town.
