Lovely Garden
This former palace now houses government offices. The gardens are where the von Trapp children sang "Do-Re-Mi" in the Sound of Music.

A sunny day
Very nice garden in baroque style (like everything else in Salzburg) and a part of the Historic Centre. Did not visit the palace with its famous Marble Hall and Angel Staircase so this review only applies to the park. It feels really worth walking around the park for a couple of hours because it contains a lot of beautiful things to look at. Fine fountains, including the Pegaus Fountain which appears in the film Sound of Music and the Grand Fountain which symbolizes the four seasons. There is also a rose garden, an orangery and a very odd collection of figures in what is called the Dwarf Garden. It is a bit remote from the rest of the park but is well worth a visit, especially if you have children with you.

Gardens were undertaking some replanting
The Mirabell Palace and Mirabell Gardens has been declared a world heritage site by UNESCO. Its a beautiful palace and manicured gardens however wnen we visited there was come replanting of the flower beds so not at its best. Some scenes from The Sound of Music” were payed here such as Maria – played by Julie Andrews – and the seven children danced around the Pegasus Fountain while singing the song “Do Re Mi”. Also the Summer Riding School and Nonnberg Abbey served as film sets. . ISome of the highlights to visit include: Pegasus Fountain Grand Fountain Hedge Theater Dwarf Garden Rose Garden Orangery
