    - Great lunch!
    Wednesday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Wineries & Vineyards
    Stone's Throw Winery image
My husband and I stopped by their wine bar for a Saturday afternoon lunch. It was a delightful meal with very attentive service and excellent food. We enjoyed the meatballs and the cold smoked duck, both of which come with several thin pieces of excellent baguette, as well as three glasses of different wines between us. Prices aren’t cheap, but they are in line with Door Co. and reflective of the high quality of the food and wine. Incidentally, we happened to be there when the wedding party of 14 dropped in (they left a nasty review below.) It’s a small place (as is the tasting room); of course they can’t accommodate that many people without notice. Don’t let that deter you from visiting. See more..

Impressed with how efficient the service operated they were on time and thorough. For 4 adults and 2 kids cost was $99 round trip They have several ferry boats running so we didn’t have to wait long at all to load Coming back from Washington Island we waited about 10 mins to load They can get about 15-20 cars on depending on size our ferry had RV going over and Horse Trailer coming back that took several car spots but still little wait time Washington Island was wonderful as well spent about 6 hours there with several hours at Schoolhouse Beach We went straight to Schoolhouse Beach when we arrived around 11:30. We came here as a couple on a week away—and it was too cold to swim. Still, we were pleasantly surprised by how well-maintained the beach area is. The rocks are pristine and the area is virtually free of trash. The signage not to take rocks seems to be extremely effective and we were able to make cairns on the lakefront without issue. Whitefish Dunes State Park image
absolutely stunning walk along the lake with ample trails in park and nearby. Nice little history about sunken ship in park area, bathrooms clean, and in various points throughout park, lush colors last week of October. Well marked trails with maps at various locations. Some of trail is rugged with tree roots (not as extensive as in cave point, county park which is adjacent), and paved, dirt and gravel trail which was not rugged at all. Through the woods in parts, it was bumpy but you could run with a dog and not break an ankle. The terrain does change in various locations. Over all, it was gorgeous. Late in October the beach area was closed. See more..

There are no words to describe the feeling this church creates in one's being. It's used as a meditation center and for special occasions(weddings, etc.) by local and visitors alike. Built totally by hand, as a tribute to God and the builder's Scandinavian Heritage, it is a masterpiece of construction and purpose. Since my first visit, the place is never far from my thoughts and it draws me back time and time again. Stop here and soothe your soul. See more..

The prices are good and the variety is terrific. You can buy delicious cherry juice-which is already frozen so you can travel with it and refrigerate as soon as you get home. We kept it in a cooler for several hours and could then continue thawing in the frig when we got home. The store is large, so easy to move around and not feel crowded. See more..

Some areas are simple, but others areas you have to climb straight up rocks and roots. Awesome views of the water, and neat rocks to climb and explore. Don’t forget the bug spray! See more..
