The self-tour well worth it!
Built in 1868, Eagle Bluff Lighthouse continues its service as a navigational aid. The Door County Historical Society restored the residence and light tower and opened a museum in 1963. The Society provides tours and tells the story of the Duclon family. The lighthouse is open 7 days a week, mid-May through late October. A state park sticker is required for entrance to Peninsula State Park. The Door County Historical Society charges to small fee for tours, as they do not receive any operational support from the state.

Historic Lighthouse in state park location
Eagle Bluff lighthouse is located in the Peninsula State park on the Door County peninsula. A park day pass is needed to enter the park. The lighthouse is open for visitors but they are limiting the numbers allowed inside at one time following Covid guidelines, which we appreciated. They also sanitize between every group so we felt the staff went above and beyond to keep it safe. The living quarters are furnished with historically accurate furnishings and one can climb the winding steps up the tower. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon in the state park after touring the lighthouse. Its a beautiful state park with miles of trails to hike or bike plus plenty of quiet spots along the lakeshore to just sit and enjoy Lake Michigan.

Light House on the Water
First, I'm a mild lighthouse junkie - so this is a place for me. The times are limited when you can see the inside, but you can visit the outside in the park basically sun rise to sun set. Situated right on the water and great for picture taking.
