    - Great experience 10/10
    Monday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Wineries & Vineyards
    Glenfarclas Distillery image
What a great experience the distillery tour was. We toured the distillery on the day it "fell silent" for summer: although the last mash had been emptied we were able to see the stills in operation. Rosie was a great tour guide, even though she doesn't touch a drop! There were twelve of us on the tour, of mixed nationalities and it was a good group in all respects. The tickets for the Classic Tour were £7.50 each; this was a bargain for an hour and half experience. The tickets each included a £5.00 discount against a 75cl bottle in the shop. There were tastings for the non-drivers and a miniature for the drivers in the group. I would highly recommend the Glenfarclas distillery tour and suggest that you book well in advance (you pay on arrival). There were several people who turned up on spec for the tour and were disappointed - don't let that be you! See more..

    - One hour ‘Red Door’ gin tour
Monday: 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Distilleries
    Benromach image
Located on the outskirts of the ancient market town of Forres lies Benromach Distillery. From a small and almost lost distillery emerged a single malt withdistinctive qualities reflecting its hand made credentials as well as encapsulating the self-reliance, sophistication and modern values of Scotland today.Established in 1898, the distillery experienced many closures and changes in ownership prior to 1993, when malt whisky specialists, Gordon & MacPhail rescued it. Following an extensive reinstallation project, embracing the distillery's original character, Benromach was officially re-opened by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1998.Just three experienced distillers create Benromach using the finest Scottish barley and the purest spring water from the nearby Romach Hills. They personally ensure that only the highest quality spirit is filled into sturdy oak casks before being left to mature at Benromach Distillery for many years. See more..

    - Great visit to the shop, with interesting chat
Monday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Distilleries
    The GlenAllachie Distillery image
We popped by Glenallachie on the off chance that we could have a quiet look round shop. We were welcomed at the door by Karen, who took our temperatures before entry and checked the shop was free. We then had a wonderful 30mins or so, wandering the shop and hearing the history of Glenallachie and Billy Walker's influence. We tried a couple of expressions- Glenallachie are doing some really interesting finishes with different types of oak. We settled on a distillery exclusive bottle and a commitment to return when the tours are able to happen in person. Great time had, very covid safe and interesting. Thanks Karen! See more..

We decided to go "off the beaten track" and create a journey blended with sights of the whiskey triangle, the stunning northern Scotland scenery and island life. Glenlivet Mountain Bike Trails image
Visited last Friday (26th Aug) and rode the trails which were brilliant. The owner of the café was super friendly and chilled after they had closed and a great ambassador for the trail centre. We enjoyed our time so much and the feel of the place that we came back on Saturday and took out a £35 annual parking permit. Very reasonable price and ALL monies go to upkeep of the trails. Have to say this is by far the best trail centre I've visited so far in Scotland. See more..

Elgin Cathedral is one of Scotland’s most beautiful medieval buildings, dating back to the 13th century. Elgin Cathedral has a rich history - it was badly fire damaged in 1390 following an attack by Robert III's brother Alexander Stewart, Earl of Buchan, who was also known as the ‘Wolf of Badenoch’. The two towers of the West Front and the Chapter House are intact and open to the public and the climb is rewarded with magnificent views of the town of Elgin. - A excellent tour & tasting
Monday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Distilleries
    Glen Moray Distillery image
A warm welcome awaits you at Glen Moray Distillery in Elgin. Glen Moray has been distilled on the banks of the River Lossie since 1897 by a small dedicated team of craftsmen. In over a century of distilling at Glen Moray, much has changed. However, the ingredients, processes and the skills of those responsible for producing this finest quality single malt whisky remain constant. A small, friendly and informal distillery, Glen Moray is situated in the city of Elgin, the historic capital of Speyside. The area around Elgin is known as the Laich of Moray and has a mild climate. Indeed, an old Moray saying proclaims that the Laich of Moray has forty days more summer than any other part of Scotland – making Glen Moray one of the sunniest distilleries in Speyside. The Visitor Centre runs tours of the distillery, tastings of the whiskies available and has a small coffee shop and gift shop. See more..

  23. 4.5 Lossiemouth East Beach (262 reviews)
    - Fantastic, Amazing Beach!
    Beaches
    Lossiemouth East Beach image
Drove down from Inverness to surf and although I thought I had done my research I did not realise you cannot actually get to the beach other than by the closed bridge!! Arriving early the river was ebbing but still quite full, it was windy and we where not put off but this, We watched other surfers paddling their boards across!! It was not easy but nothing was going to stop up getting to this fab beach!! It was tough but so worth it. Had a great surf, sat on the white sand in the hot sun. My advise is check the tides we watched other people later in the day wading across! Much safer !! It actually reminded me of beaches in Australia!! Truly Amazing. Free parking, clean toilets. Lovely ice cream. Please hurry and repair the bridge!! See more..

  25. 4.5 Cullen Beach (195 reviews)
    - Wonderful walks, beautiful coastline, welcoming locals.
    Beaches
    Cullen Beach image
Great walks eastwards for experienced walkers or disabled. You go past the pets cemetery, really unusual and interesting. Along the path there are the best seats I have ever seen on a walk. The path is really well looked after. Sea views all the way, rocky coastline. Not too far and you come to a bay with two well placed, new, picnic tables. From there you can just return or take one of several (more demanding?) routes along the coast or a circular route back to Cullen past the caravan park. This is definitely one of the best small fishing ports on this coastline. There is a harbour with a small sandy beach when tide out, and longer beaches westward past the golf course See more..
