   My husband and I booked the "A Night in the Sahara" trek, which was an incredibly memorable and rich experience. Our guide, Mounir, was extremely hospitable, engaging, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our trip. The cameleers warmly welcomed us into some of the Bedouin traditions through their cooking, music, and dance. We really enjoyed the meals, especially the freshly made breads and stew. Juanita was very helpful, easy to communicate with, and attentive to trip details to ensure our ride and stay comfortable and enjoyable. This trek was the highlight of our time in Tunisia!    I had limited time in the Sahara but SAHARANSKY put together a magnificent, customized itinerary. My main interest was getting memorable sunrise / sunset photos in the desert - both made possible by this excellent team. Can't recommend them enough.    It was a nice trip and the best evening in the Sahara with Ali. We start From our hotel in douz by jeep... He drove for 39 min. Then we meet the camels in the Sahara. Where our camelriding started. After 2 hours we where in the middle of the dunes of sand... A nomad tend waiting us.... À delicious couscous and music around campfire...    子連れで1泊ツアーに参加しました。ガイドのMohamedは英語が堪能で、砂漠の生き物の生態やラクダ習性について子供達に興味深い話をしてくれました。美味しい食事に焚き木を囲んで歌を歌ったり、本当に楽しかったです。雄大な砂漠の日没と日の出も神秘的でした。テントと暖かい毛布用意して頂きましたが、星空が綺麗だったのでお願いしてベッドを外に出して寝ました。忘れられない経験になりました。Mohamedとチームの皆さん、本当にありがとう。

   Lors de notre voyage en groupe familial début janvier, nous avons eu la chance de déjeuner dans une maison d'hôte ( la maison des sables) sur la périphérie de Douz et au bord du désert.
   Le lieu est simple, charmant, très bien entretenu, très propre. Il y a même un bassin d'eau dans le jardin (vide en hiver) .Nous avons été accueillis avec simplicité et gentillesse.
   De très loin le meilleur couscous de notre séjour. Il y a plusieurs chambres, et je crois la possibilité de dormir sous tente bédouine si besoin. Ce lieu appartient à deux frères ayant aussi développé une agence permettant d'organiser des marches,méharées, raid 4×4 dans le désert. Sur mesure. Voir leur site web.
   Nous avons regretté de ne pas avoir eu plus de temps pour organiser une telle excursion. Nous avons vraiment envie de revenir accompagnés pour plusieurs jours par cette famille.
   Le désert c'est magique. Nos enfants/petits enfants ont découvert cet univers pour la première fois. Ce souvenir sera pour tous inoubliable.

    This is a very small but interesting museum. Having a guide with you is absolutely mandatory if you want to fully live the experience for a few more dinars (10 to 20 per group of people should work). The guy knows a lot about the region and will tell you a lot more than what the legends on the glass cases say.     So our stop in Douz - was all about riding camels . We arrived fairly early but already the sun was up and shining. So given this we have suited up - with headcover included before we got on the camel. Once we were ready we got split into groups - got a camel "assigned" and we had to get on the saddle. And once the procedure was done for all in the group the "driver/hurder" if you want took the lead camel by bridle and we started the 30+ minutes trip into the desert. The saddle was comfortable nothing to say - the handle was kind of rough - got a cut in my palm from the wood - nothing serious (but annoying enough to not give the perfect score). Animals were beautiful - all the camels looking good - and not particularly smelly (people told us - camels smell - these were clean) so it was nice ride with/on some nice animals. For those of you who are not interested in riding the camels there is the option to take a quad ride through the desert also starting from here. So you have the choice.     I love this plaza. There are plenty shops with handy crafts and handmade genuine desert slippers. You can watch craftsmen making the slippers which are good to walk on the sand with. The craftsmen usually have descent prices. Re-sellers and boutique owner tend to have more expensive price, I recommend to bargain some. There is a nice cafe in the corner that I recommend. They have a second and third floor that gives customers a view on the plaza. I loved their home made yogurt. On the outskirts of the plaza are more business worth exploring because the prices are cheaper: Sahara slippers, kilim rugs, fry bread, food, drinks, banks, pharmacy, travel agencies, dates stores any thing or service a traveler may need.     Pick up was at 9.30 although we left the hotel at 9.25, I presume because everyone had arrived but perhaps worth getting down to the reception a little early. We were picked up by a minibus which was a bit of squeeze but everyone fit in. We then arrived where the quad bikes were and waited for the other hotels guests to arrive. There were camels and chickens to admire whilst we waited. We got helmets once everyone arrived and were off. Probably about 10 mins on the road then a good 40 mins off road with a stop to get some water and take some pictures before we were off again. I’ll admit the off roading was pretty slow going but it was bumpy and twisting which made it interesting. On the roads you got to pick up some decent speed, especially on the way home as you have a bit more confidence. On the way back we stopped at a cafe for a drink and the toilet if needed. It was then about another 15-20 mins back to the start. We dropped off the quad bikes and jumped back onto The bus back to the hotel. See more..
