   Dans l'enceinte du magnifique ksar Ouled Soltane, au sud de Tataouine, Klakifa réalise de jolies auqarelles. Elles s'inspirent de ce lieu historique qui est pour beaucoup le plus beau ksar de la région.

   If your see only one Ksour make it this one. The biggest at four stories. In the prequel Star Wars trilogy movies at some point. When we went we found the resident artist in one of the “Gorfa” (grain silos). Bought the most expensive of his paintings very talented.    Douiret, an old ksar dating from before the Roman era, a magical place to visit ! You will find some old Berber signs everywhere, engraved on the vault of the doors; the top of the ksar is accessible, after walking over some stones piled up: the view is stunning from up there. The ksar keeps going a looong way behind the visible part on top and you can walk along it, looking into a valley. This historical part of the village was slowly abandoned during the 20th century as caravan activity stopped. There are a couple guest houses where you can sleep up here, it’s otherwise uninhabited and beautifully calm. See more..

   I went on a short tour from Tozeur to Gabes via Ksar Ghilane, and it was one of the most magical experiences of my life. The great expanse of the Sahara desert, the feeling of utter insignificance, being a mere dot in the landscape... It's truly overwhelming and awe-inspiring how incredible this place is. Plus, riding a camel to an ancient Roman fort and watching the sun set into the desert is pretty spectacular. Visiting the Ksar is usually an overnight experience, and you can camp in the desert which is very beautiful, the stars are amazing.
