This tour was great for seeing so many different landscapes in a short time - the oasis, waterfall, sand dunes, canyon, salt lake and Star Wars set. Our guide Ali was very knowledgeable and friendly, and let us enjoy the landscapes as slowly as we wanted to without any rush. We got a beautiful view of the sunset from the top of a sand dune. Mides was a very cool place. We combined it in a day trip from Tozuer with Chebica and Tamerza. We were greeted by a friendly guide (8 dinar -- very reasonable). These volunteer guides are at just about every site and our experiences with all of them were pretty good. Even though we didn't always want a guide, they almost always added to the experience. The old village is impressive, especially when you get to the far end and realize it is built on the edge of a sheer cliff. And the canyon is beautiful, and immediately recognizable as the background for the pod race in Star Wars. Definitely worth seeing. See more..

Jamal added a lot to our experience in Tunisia , he took my two daughters and I all around his beautiful country. He was very polite, spoke good English , very knowledgeable with the history of all the locations we visited , knows where and when to take us to any famous sights , and where to stop to rest on the long drive , no problem with his drive at all and in addition to that he was very generous and nice with the girls , got us a lot of tunisian snacks and tried his best to keep the girls engaged and listened to all of our requests . Very sweet restaurant on top of the ancient berber village, near the mosque. Very beautiful decorative and authentic interior. The owner of the cafe is welcoming her guests in the 4th generation. She speaks french and english but most of all tamazirth (the original berber language). She likes to share the values of traditional berber values and traditions. An absolutely friendly and genuine person. The food and drinks reflect her passion of her culture and everything is very clean. It is worth visiting this place and relax in this lovely setting. Simply awe inspiring. We came to Tozeur to see the Star Wars sites but this blew us away. Impressively flat to the horizon with mirages in the distance. The views at sunset are particularly mind-blowing. Hire a guide to help you get around. Definitely a must do. See more..

Russian guide told interesting about Tunisia and sights, but she was not allowed to stop the bus on the highway after I told ))) I really liked the tour! Saturated and full of adventure! I remember the Colosseum, riding a camel and quad bike, the next day riding a jeep, salt lakes, an oasis - there were many interesting personalities there). I advise! The hotel for 1 night was a good ) When the guide she came out on back way, I certainly shout to the driver and the handsome Tunisian guide: Stoping please!!! and the driver stops and we with the guide jump out of the bus, and we run to the seller, I buy fruits and peas)) Of course Sahara is interesting to travel, but do not sit in the hotel. Waterfall in mountain oasis Chebika at border of Sahara, Tunisia is such a another day in paradise again. You will walk for a few minutes from the main road where 4 WDs parked. There are some souvenir shops, restaurants here.I have a delicious palm juice at one souvenir shop where we shopped.The surrounding around me here is so beautiful. Used in filming locations for Star Wars episode 1, where Annakin Skywalker goes pod racing; also, Indiana Jones and the last Crusade, where Indi, Sean Connery and Denholm Elliott are in the nazi tank fighting. We discovered Sahara Lounge accidentally. We were touring the Tozeur Oasis when we saw people zip lining. We got curious and went inside and discovered one of the best places in Tozeur. The food was great, ambience was fantastic, Imed and his team were very helpful and our daughters enjoyed zip lining and games over two evenings. Definitely one of our highlights. See more..

We only had a very limited amount of time in Tozeur, but Ali put together a great half day itinerary that included some Star Wars sites, the oasis of Chebika and some dune bashing. I just booked my tickets to/from Tozeur without an idea where to visit. I found the mail address of the tour organizer Mr. Moez two days before the trip on Tripadvisor and he proposed an amazing all inclusive 3days private trip. We started from Tozeur, Tamerza Waterfalls and headed for staying in a tent in the Sahara Desert (Douz) through the salt lake. Second day, we headed to another Sahara attraction Ksar Ghilane and stayed in Chenini and the day after came back to Tozeur through another route (Ksar Hadada). We didn't know what we were getting into. We walked out from Tozeur to feel what the oasis was... and we ran into a theme park. It really was a surprise, but worthwhile. It took us through the story of the planet, from pre-history dinosaur times all the way to now... and included a rather thorough look into the earth's main religions. at first sight it may look like as an usual and boring museum, but once in, you discover a charming visit. The tour starts with a tour is a huge palm garden and is guided by a sympathic girl that explain to you all that you have to know about palm culture and date products, and it is very interesting especially for the way that palm wood is transformed to make pieces of furniture and decorative stuff. the tour ends with a visit of a production unit of date syrup, made up in a biological agriculture. The syrup is used to make a lot of tasty products as "date honey", "date butter", "date jam with cinammon" .. We bought a plenty of even if quite expensive, and it is absolutely unique !!!! you spend there 1 hour in total, entrance fee is very cheap (4 euros a person), and it is may be the most valuable adress in Tozeur. Tozeur Market (the medina) Aziz runs a typical market stall on the edge of Tozeur’s Medina. Typical except for Katarina, his pet fennec (desert fox), and top sales assistant. He says he has a male at home, assuredly not called Rommel. Even so, his welcome is typical of the traders, keen but not overpowering. Most of his family seem to work in the market - if not in the merchandise stalls, then in the food market, where, surprisingly for an inland town, fresh fish is a speciality. See more..
