- 5.0 Amphitheatre of El Jem (1.327 reviews)
-Visiting El Jem Colesium in 1 day
Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Ancient Ruins • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings
Me and my friend had a 1 day trip to El Jem from Tunis. We got a train ticket from Gare de Tunusia it's only 13.5 Tunusian Dinars one way, it takes around 4 hours to El Jem. After 4 hours we reached El Jem and the Colesium is very close to El Jem train station. We paid 13 dinners for a ticket it closed around 6 pm. It's amazing worth to see. There is a small souvenir shop and wc's inside the facility. The return train is available until 14.00pm, if you miss that there is another option which are the minivan for 6 people max and calls Loyage. You need first go to Souse city and change the loyage from Souse to Tunis, it's again takes around 3 hours in total. See more..

Built by the Fatimid Imam in 916 AD, the design of the mosque is every bit Fatimid Style, same as that found in Egypt, where the Fatimids ruled for a considerable period of time. After 1100 years, the mosque still attracts crowd for prayers nd has been well maintained by the care takers of the mosque. See more..
- 5.0 Necropole Punique (1 review)
-NECROPOLE PUNIQUE - UNE HISTOIRE
Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Ancient Ruins
See more..

- 4.5 Mahdia Beach (695 reviews)
-Best beach in Tunisia
Beaches
It is a very nice beach, very clean and the water crystal clear. There are life guards all over the beach and just over all relaxing. There are restaurants close by and stores so you can easily go get something if you need. Its a good idea to bring a parasol the Tunisian heat/sun can be very brutal. See more..
- 4.5 Archaeological Museum of El-Djem (470 reviews)
-Excellent museum included in coliseum ticket
History Museums
Like others have said, an incredible place to visit after the coliseum. Only about a 10-minute walk to it AND entrance is included in the same ticket. A total win for one of the best mosaic museums I have EVER been to…and I’ve been to a lot! No tourists except me most of the time which I liked as well. The semirestored House of Africa in the rear is picturesque and holds more lovely mosaics. Took tons of photos. All mosaics on the wall have placards right Arabic, English and French translations and the history of El Jem and its Roman predecessor is described on placards at the entrance. There’s also some interesting death masks and sculptures, as well as ceramics. My only concern in the museum was walking on many of the mosaics in each room… I assume these are not original?! Why else would we be allowed to tramp all over them?! Lovely museum kitty that follows you if you feed it. :) See more..

Friday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM Scuba & Snorkelling
We had never dived before so with some intrepidation decided to go all in and attempt the 1 star international licence, CMAS. The owner and lead instuctor Nesh is an instantly likeable character and put us at ease straight away. Although we were very nervous the instructors were very very patient and allowed us to get used to breathing under water at our own pace. They explained everything clearly and were in constant contact so we always felt safe and reassured that all was ok! The way they teach and their easy going characters made it enjoyable and easy to learn which is how 2 nervous novices acheived 1 star over 5 dives!! I would reccommend these guys to anyone whether a beginner or a seasoned veteran and not only that, the price is very reasonable! If your reading this Nesh thanks to you and the boys and we'll see you again soon! Paul & Lina See more..

- 4.0 Skifa El Kahla (3 reviews)
-SKIFA EL KAHLA - INCONTURNABLE MONUMENT HISTORIQUE
Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites
See more..

There is one museum at the ottoman fort, but the museum of Mahdia is located next to the Skifa el-Kahla (city gates and entrance to the medina). The tour guide was very friendly and spoke English very well. He showed us the view from the Skifa el-Kahla tower as well. See more..
