This is a very small but interesting museum. Having a guide with you is absolutely mandatory if you want to fully live the experience for a few more dinars (10 to 20 per group of people should work). The guy knows a lot about the region and will tell you a lot more than what the legends on the glass cases say. Once your journey is over, you should know more about people who lived in the region, their traditions, animals, weapons, daily life, families, clothes and rituals...

Excellent and informative small museum
Well worth a visit for about an hour. Covers the geology, geography, people and clothing of the desert. It is a new-ish museum. Small parking area at the front.

Small museum to fill your day in Douz
We were passing through Douz and thought we did something here for an hour and found this place. It was small but it had enough information to display about the desert nomadic life and traditions of its inhabitants. I guess if you had a short time to kill in Douz, this would be a good choice.
