Took a ferry from Fuzhou, the ride was about 1 and half hour. Went on a weekday, so there were very few people around the island. The temple was really small and We were the only people in the temple, everything was self serve. This is a must visit place if you ever go to matsu island. See more..

Located in Juguang island (莒光) - the island is made up of east (东莒) and West (西莒) Island.. You could get access to the island from Fu Ao Harbor (福澳港) in Nangan (南竿), 3 timings per day, ride takes about 45min, cost TWD200 one way (at time of writing). Return ticket can be purchased at the harbour in Dongju. Once you arrived, you could literally walked round the island (very hilly) or rent a motorbike (which I did). With a motorbike, you could complete the all main attractions in the island within 3 hours.. I paid TWD300 for motorbike rental (3 hours). The lighthouse is located at north east end of the island, there are signboards along the road. Surrounding the lighthouse, you would find forts, cannons, and room displaying history of the lighthouse. Area is windy, and on a clear day, you could see China from the viewing gallery! Note of advise, the island sells food but not at every location, so bring along light bites as you move along (water too). See more..

Nowadays Andong Tunnel is open to the public as a tourist attraction, during April there are many bird species would linger by the cave and the ocean. This is the historical version of DMZ (Demilitarised Zone) in Korea. While DMZ is still tense today, this Exhibition shows the not so cold war between the Communist China (Mainland China, People's Republic of China, PRC) and the Nationalist/ Free China (Taiwan, Republic of China, ROC) in from 1950s till 1980s. For those who have served in the military some time ago, you would find your equipment being shown in the Centre. From the oral history section, couple with a local guide, you will find out the very real skirmish happened in the past (with one whole company of ROC soldiers by the PRC special forces). To complete your experience, you should visit those bunker nearby. By walking through those bunker and looking down from the position, you will get to appreciate how tense back then (and be thankful of the peace right now). See more..

馬祖列島中，海拔最高的山─碧山，山上設有雷達站，當班機飛抵北竿機場前，若北竿機場近場附近幾個紅色警示燈無法讓飛機駕駛目視，則可能會讓班機返航，飛回台灣。

下午的碧山，風很烈，滿天的蜻蜓，我曉得快下雨了，碧山後的軍營已沒有往年上萬軍人的駐守，軍力隨著兩岸政治緩和，已逐步精簡。

碧山觀景台視野，可以很清楚的瞭望整個塘岐村、塘後道沙灘、北竿機場跑道，居高臨下，看見一切美景，是旅行轉角遇到的感動；我也願用畢生之力，將我遇到的感動故事，透過文字、口語分享，繼續傳唱下去。 See more..

白沙港位於馬祖北竿島的南端，負責對外交通的海上運輸服務，有銜接馬祖南竿的交通，也有提供小三通前往連江縣黃岐港的接駁船隻。

有時候南竿天氣不好，飛機無法起降，旅客會轉而前往北竿，再從白沙港搭船過去南竿。

遠方不遠處有平水尊王廟，港務大樓前方的廣場也因為空曠，所以季風很強的時候來北竿旅遊，留意停放的摩托車要看是否會被風吹倒。 See more..

The islands of Nangan and Beigan are pronciple to the Taiwanese islands of Matsu. These lie off the coastt of Fujian provence in Mainland China and, along with Kinmen, were thet first line of defense for the Republic of China against Communist China, PRC. Nangan has the best hotel, Coast of the Dawn yet the island is strewn with trash and has an uneasy feel about it. We were pleasantly surprised after a 20 boat ride to Beigan to find a beautifully pristine sister island of Beigan with the beautifully preserved century old village of Qiebi entirely of traditional Matsu architecture.
