A beautiful show and a must see for anyone in the area. Massimo is incredibly knowledgeable and conveys his passion for these birds to the audience. The technical details of their flight and prey locating techniques are fascinating. Public education and support for veterinary education is their legacy. Dorella and Massimo have their birds flying above you're heads with wings brushing your hair. It's exciting and a one of a kind show. Great for all ages. See more..

We purchased tickets to go inside the castle and on the castle walls, inside in the castle you will read more about the love story which was quite gruesome. We visited the inside of the castle then did the castle walls. The entrance to the castle walls is at the bell tower on the left (when you have the castle at your back. - Tante meraviglie!
Tuesday: 8:30 AM - 6:15 PM Spent 1-2 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings • Art Museums
    Palazzo Ducale di Urbino image
The Palazzo Ducale in Urbino is given to all Italian children as the ultimate example of Italian Renaissance architecture. Duke Federico da Montefeltro built it, in between conquering foreign places and buying art with the money earned in his battles. The double portrait of the Duke and his missus hangs in the Uffici in Florence but his art collection is all in Urbino. Admission is a modest 6 Euro. Your biggest problem will be to find parking. Be sure to carry coins (lots of them!) because most of the parking places do not accept cards. See more..

    - The Holy House in Loretto

    Santuario Della Santa Casa image
The Sanctuary of Loreto is a beautiful place rich in history that I absolutely recommend visiting. Inside is one of the most important relics of Christianity, the Holy House of the Madonna, the walls of the Holy House of Mary of Nazareth, which according to Christian tradition were miraculously carried by angels to their own in Loreto. Inside is also a statue of the "Black Madonna" wearing a golden cloak and, according to tradition, her face was darkened by the smoke from the candles. One day is enough to visit this fantastic place. See more..

    Sfera Grande di Pomodoro image
Arnaldo Pomodoro is famous for his spheres and you can immediately recognize his style in this work. It’s located right in front of promenade and gives quite a dramatic impression on a rainy day. The raindrops were beautifully falling into the pool of water in the center of which the sphere is placed and it created a stunning infinity effect. So worth the visit! Wonderful art! Beautiful historical sight, worth visiting at least outside. The current appearance of the Fortress dates back to the Renaissance period: it was built between 1476 and 1482 by Giovanni Della Rovere, nominated Lord of Senigallia and Vicar of Mondavio by Pope Sisto IV, who was at the time his uncle Francesco Della Rovere. Now it’s a museum that hosts different kinds of exhibitions. Very picturesque! See more..

    - A truly splendid fresco masterpiece
    Tuesday: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM Religious Sites • Churches & Cathedrals
Oratorio di San Giovanni Battista image
Amazing art site and amazing experience. Don’t let the dark and small entrance mislead you: the frescos inside are the best we’ve seen in our life. The details in gold, the tiny mirrors on the angels wings to make them shine, the different materials and techniques that make the painting 3D… just WOW. All there to prove the astonishing, splendid masterpieces they must have been originally and how (sadly) we can only enjoy a fraction of this wonderful art. The person at the reception is a living encyclopedia and gladly explains the hidden meaning of the scenes, metaphors and allegories. Buy something at the shop if you can, to support the conservation of the site. See more..

We were lucky enough to see all 3 caves. The first cave was carved by the ancient tribe of the Piceni. The second cave was a venue for free mason congregations and initiations. The third cave was used by the templars. Our guide, Simona, was exceptional. She was kind, intelligent, and knowledgable. This visit was a MUST SEE. Especially if you can have Simona guide you. - Incredible!
Spent More than 3 hours Beaches
    Baia di Portonovo image
As someone who has ocean water in her veins, I confidently recommend this as a MUST Do/See/Experience! My husband was working so I went solo. Parking was easy and reasonably priced, as was the boat ride provided by Traghettatori Riveria Del Conero (I highly recommend them as well). The water was warm and clear, and the scenery was awesome. Sturdy beach shoes are necessary, as others have noted. It was so enjoyable, I booked the same trip for the next day-something I rarely do as there is so much to see when traveling-but unfortunately it rained. Put this on your list! See more..
  29. 4.5 Parco del Conero (493 reviews)
    - Great area for hiking and stunning coastline views
National Parks • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Hiking Trails
    Parco del Conero image
The main attractions are the overlooks Pian Grande, Belvedere North and Belvedere South. In theory one can hike all three in an extended day tour, but we recommend to hike to the first two from the ex campo sportivo in Poggio and to the latter from the parking lot of Badia de San Pedro. In the northern part, don’t miss the Roman quarry on your way up or down. Google maps are helpful as the trails are not uniquely numbered - or pick up info/maps at the park center. See more..
  30. 4.5 Abbazia di Chiaravalle di Fiastra (491 reviews)
    - Beautiful monastery and a great place where to spend a whole afternoon
    Tuesday: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Religious Sites • Churches & Cathedrals
Abbazia di Chiaravalle di Fiastra image
The Abbey of Fiastra was founded by Cistercian monks coming from the Abbey of Chiaravalle of Milan: twelve monks arrived on 12 November 1142 and started the construction of the Abbey. The Abbey flourished in the following three centuries, it became one of the most important monasteries in Middle Italy and its lands and properties extended over the territory of Le Marche as far as Emilia Romagna (Rimini) and Umbria (Foligno, Spoleto). The very good state of preservation of the entire building complex will let you admire an example of the typically Cistercian architecture which is based on simplicity and humility, in full accordance with St. Bernard of Clairvaux’s reformation of monastic life.
