We visited on a gorgeous June day, taking the boat from the Kasnas resort. (This particular boat trip also stops at the Rosala Viking Center. The Center itself isn't much, but it is nice to walk around the island if the weather's good.) The staff were very friendly, helpful, and informative. Our guide spent over 45 minutes explaining the lighthouse's history, strategic importance, and infrastructure. It was fascinating. One thing to note, however. This may not be the best option for people who experience limited mobility. Getting into and out of the boat which transported us could be a huge challenge for anyone with physical limitations. While there are level areas around the lighthouse itself, one must climb steps from the dock to the lighthouse, then climb more stairs to get into the building.See more..

A beautiful and peaceful hiking route. Easy and free parking at Luontotalo, very well marked routes around the lake Matilda. Fire places with huts often so even small children could walk themselves, the shortest route is only about 3 km in round. Lots to see while you walk, beautiful nature, forest, lake, birds and other animals. With almost every hut there's a toilet possibility (bring your own toilet paper) and woods available so you only need to carry a lighter to start a fire. Everything is free. You could spend a couple of days sleeping on the huts if wanted to. It's amazing that someone offers this for free.See more..

These guys are amazing! In the afternoon they picked us up from the small harbor of Mathildedal and drove us to a cute and uninhabited island. There they made an extraordinary, healthy and tasty dinner for us and together we enjoyed the sunset and had a good chat. It was real Highlight for us and if you are staying in Mathildedal or even if you just do a daytrip to this little town, I can highly recommend booking an experience with Kala Tovi! 5 Stars and if we are back we will repeat that amazing Dinner with sunset and sea view for sure! The downstairs of the house is the presentation of the history of the house and how the wealthy family used to live. The rooms are well presented and there are good explanations of each room. There are also some photo board displays of old buildings in Uusikaupunki which were demolished and replaced with ugly modern blocks, well worth a look! Upstairs is dedicated to the maritime history of Uusikaupunki with lots of photos, exhibits, pictures of ships and other such usual things. The inside yard contains some outbuildings, including a shoe maker's workshop. The yard is a nice place to sit and have a coffee or picnic. I'd highly recommend a visit to this museum!See more..

Klockarbergen cave on Nagu Island is one of the largest caves in Finland. It is located near the town center. The cave was born as the boulders were removed from the granite rock by the continental glacier during the ice age. This vast and damp cave is haunted by the spirit of a little girl. Back in the 19th century, when many wolves lived and roamed the island of Nagu, the animals also stayed in the Klockarbergen cave. 5.0Raumakari(1 review) - Intresting history of Raumakari, goos spot for a picnic Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 1-2 hours Islands 1934 builded Ukko-Pekka bridge, in these days is in light vehicle and walking use only, and in the middle of the bridge is a open spot in a fence, from where you can step to the other side of it and get to the tiniest island called Raumakari. Raumakari, and specially the southern side of it, is very popular lure fishing place, on the bridge is usually many fishermen in a row. From the middle of the island you can find a very special monument. A big stone, witch is bolted to the rock underneath with a heavy chain. On the stone is a sign that says “Friendship stone”. The story behind the Friendship-stone is, that in the old days, people were tired of fighting between young men from the island of Luonnonmaa and from the continental Naantali. One very strong man brought a big stone for them in between, to Raumakari, and said that they could try their strengths by lifting the stone and not each other. Friendship stone has remain to this day as a symbol of peace, between islands and continental. There are also intresting rockhacks in the area, some of which have been there since the 18th century. Skillfully engraved year numbers and initials, some of them stand out very clearly. Some signs on the rocks also played an important role as landmarks or when monitoring the water levels of the area. The flow under the bridge is strong, and even in the coldest winters it does not freeze. Therefore, the place is the best destination for birdwatchers in winter, as in summer when you can spot summer doves nesting on the cliffs of the Kuparivuori. There are also couple of other things referring to shipping traditions: various mooring rings and rock hooks for boat mooring and rock formations that have been rounded off beautifully by seawater flow.See more..
5.0Casa Haartman(1 review) - How an artist does interior decoration Spent < 1 hour Speciality Museums • History Museums
Casa Haartman is the home museum of the artist Axel Haartman and his wife Hedvig. The house is from 1920's, designed by Erik Bryggman, an architect much appreciated in Finland and known abroad especially for his Recurrection Chapel (in Turku). This house was the Haartman family home for nearly 40 years, and Axel also had his atelier there. This is a charming place to visit, since the home is pretty much intact and lets the visitor get a genuine glimse into the everyday family life and circumstances of two cultural and cultivated persons.See more..
