Spent More than 3 hours National Parks

We organised a trip through Fernando (email: sifuentes.fede(at)gmail.com) a few weeks before our planned arrival in Nuevo Rocafuerte. He was super responsive, very professional and gave us all the info we needed to get to the start point of the 4 day/3 night tour. The tour in itself was well organised (all tents, bedding, wellington boots and bivouac accessories provided) and super diverse (usually bird watching before breakfast, a 3-4 hour forest walk in the morning and then some boating on the Yasuni river and Laguna in the afternoon). We were blown away by the animals we were able to hear, to detect traces of and, if lucky, to actually spot! Fernando’s knowledge of the forest and it’s inhabitants along with his uncanny knack for spotting wildlife made our experience just magical :) See more..

We stayed at Llikchary for 2 nights and it turned out to be an experience that you hardly can get somewhere else. We went from Coca 3-4 hours with a boat to Sani Isla. The Cabanas are basic but very clean and comfortable. During our 3 days we did a lot of cool activities: cayman spotting from the canoe, jungle walks during day and night, throwing the spear and shooting with a blowgun, trying the authentic food and fishing for piranhas and a lot more... However, the most permanent impression was to see the way of living of the community which was still isolated from the modern world a couple years ago. You learn about the economic aspects of the rainforest (oil) and its influence on the indigenous people. Under these circumstances it is impressive to see that Danny, Gabriel and their friends came up with the project of Llikchary. Jorge was a fantastic guide on a 2 day trip from El Coca to Yasuni. He is extremely knowledgeable and I saw monkeys, many birds, frogs, parrots and more and learned a about the plants of the amazon on the way. Food was delicious and the accommodation was fantastic - beautiful, clean and private whilst not over the top like some of the lodges in the National Park. Also, he and his family accommodated my little dog which was a real relief as travelling with a pet is fairly difficult around the National Parks. Not to forget that Jorge is great to be with and tailors the tour to your preferences which you won't get from the big tour operators. I highly recommend his services. See more..

Pensábamos que no tendríamos el tiempo de ver todo de Yasuni en dos días pero con ellos definitivamente es posible !
Vimos varios tipos de aves, caimanes negros, diversos mamíferos y muchos insectos que parecían salir de otro mundo.
También fuimos a visitar la finca personal con el jefe del lodge ,donde pudimos probar muchos frutos como uvas de la selva, cacao y otras variedades de plantas. Además, nos mostró como buscar chontacuros y otros consejos para sobrevivir en la selva.
No fuimos a las partes muy turísticas de Yasuni (como el mirador) pero eso lo que estábamos buscando, un lugar gestionado por locales, con actividades más cerca de la vida local.
Los guías siempre tenían buenos consejos, nos sentimos muy seguros con ellos aunque estábamos en el medio de la selva.

Amazing experience. The lodge has excellent accommodation and given how interior it is surprised to find Wi-Fi . The cooks prepared amazing vegan food for us and one of the best value for money Special mention to Robert Vaca for setting this tour and also helping to get overnight bus tickets from Quito to Coca in an excellent bus which was safe and very comfortable with climate control. They were on time in the meeting point and provided the tour as promised . Overall a 5 star experience with fraction of price compared to other tours.. Same activities as others , so try it out Special shout out to Marco our guide who spent the entire time with us on jungle walks , night walks , parrot clay lick , canopy walks , bird watching and money trailing . Caiman sighting in the night was fun activity. My teenage son loved every minute we spent here and kudos to Robert Vaca ,Bill, Marco and kitchen staff for the wonderful experience See more..

My friend and I decided to top off our Galapagos/Equador trip with a visit to the Amazon jungle. What an experience! The two of us were so well taken care of by a team of three - our excellent guide Mauro, our boat captain and chef. We had comfortable, private accommodations and delicious meals of local food. The whole trip was well planned and went at an easy enough pace. I highly recommend you consider Amazon Travel Tours if you plan to visit Ecuador.
