A $3 mototaxi ride from Mompiche then 50 cents to cross the river in a boat. A looong walk on the wide beach from the Royal Decameron Resort Beach Club past red crabs and marked turtle egg laying sites. Fresh fish ceviche and a cold beer for lunch with our feet up at Karen's. Our mototaxi driver returned for us on time four hours later...an easy and relaxing day. Only thing better would have been to see the sun (were here during cloudy season). See more..

Playa Las Palmas is a beautiful place with an extensive pier where you can find restaurants, bars, nightclubs. This spa is recognized by all the people who visit every year on holidays and for the beauty of its beach. Las Palmas along its 5-kilometer stretch offers visitors both the possibility of grouping in the most crowded areas, such as finding a more secluded place to enjoy the sunny days and the sea. I visited this place with my family for the carnival holiday, we spent incredible days with my cousins as you can see in the photos. The area is quite crowded by tourists from the sector where sports and recreational activities are permanent. This place is always moving, at nightfall the bars and nightclubs are filled with people who want to enjoy the big. In this season of carnival in which we visit Las Palmas the "International Festival of Music and Afro Dance" is realized, where the culture and the ancestral roots of the black people are expressed. Hermosa playa de Ecuador, lugar poco conocido por los turistas, pero de hermosos paisajes y grandes aventuras, para llegar se toma un bus desde Atacames y esta a 1 horas aprox, hay lugares para hospedarse y disfrutar de la tranquilad del mar y del sector, gente muy amable, quien visite este sector se quedara enamorado de su belleza, adic, avistamiento de ballenas desde la cubre de una ladera que da al mar.

Sua is about 7 KM from Atacames, the beach isn't huge, but it is very nice. After the party and noisy atmosphere in Atacames, Sua is very quiet. There are a few beach bars along the road malecon, but all were closed on a Wednesday and most look like they have been closed for quite a while. On the west end is a river/lagoon that runs back thru town and provides boat access for the fishermen, Some very fresh seafood in this area although there weren't any women cooking in the streets as they probably do on weekends. I went to Tonsupa with friends and its a beautiful one. It was not crowded but the waves are little bit intense. We had a good cloudy weather and went for a long walk to the righ side of the beach. During the day some of them are open to look after the thirsty tourists, but, there is a big change during the night, this area becomes an endless entertainment place. The Bar that outstands them all is: PICHO'S BAR. They have a long list of cocktails, some of them unique to the Bar. The DJ will satisfy all tastes of music and rythms, from Latin sounds to Heavy Rock. We had a blast!. The wife's owner, Diana comes from Canada , thus, speaks English.
