-Rain forest tour and museum
Thursday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Gardens
Here you can do a guided rain forest tour and see lots of different orchids. There is also a small museum where you can see all the restoration work they have done over the years and how new animal species came back to the forest every year as the trees grew higher. The owners have an amazing voluntary spirit. Recommended! See more..

-Fabulous day tour of the Amazon
Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Multi-day Tours • Eco Tours • Day Trips
We spent a full and fantastic day with Patricio yesterday. We were amazed at how much we experienced. Patricio is very knowledgable about all aspects of Amazonia: plants, animals, history, culture, language. He speaks English well, which we certainly appreciated. Between 9 and five, we saw giant giant fish, walked through the rainforest, learning about plants and animals along the way, swam under a gorgeous waterfall, hiked back and enjoyed a delicious lunch. After lunch we visited an indigenous village and were treated to a dance performance. Then a trip down the Rio Puyo in a dugout canoe, which was very exciting. Finally a visit to caves, a swing with a long drop, and an amazing mirador looking over the rivers. If it had been clearer, we would have seen three volcanoes from up there. Then safely delivered back to Puyo. Thank you to Patricio for a wonderful day. See more..

-Best tour agency in Baños
Thursday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM Day Trips
When you research tour agencies in Baños, you will realize there are a LOT! I’m so lucky I decided to go with ExplorJungle. The owner is extremely kind, flexible and very passionate about showing his city. We did three tours with this company and everything went perfectly. I 100% recommend anyone to use this company! -Relaxing
Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 1-2 hours Parks
This is a beautiful little park with lots of plants, bird sculptures, a playground for the kids, lots of benches for the adults and in the middle of it, mounted on a tall tower, a full size replica airplane of the one Nate Saint flew in his contact with the Waorani tribe in January, 1956. -Waorani Crafts
Spent < 1 hour Speciality & Gift Shops
Authentic Waorani crafts. The objects are made by hand by Waorani women using organic materials. Profits are used to preserve one of the most biodiverse rain forests in the world and to support Waorani families. The store is run by the Waorini women who produce the crafts. The affected rain forest is threatened by mining, logging, petroleum drilling, illegal hunting, and habitat destruction. See more..

-Excellent place to visit, observe and learn about monkeys and other jungle animals.
Thursday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas • Zoos
This is a beautiful place and a fabulous sanctuary / refuge for monkeys and other animals, most of whom’ s names I don’t remember - but there were wonderful explanatory signs on many types of foliage and all of the animals. The staff was so friendly and helpful and their commitment to the mission of this refuge was clear. I recommend anyone who has any interest in animals visit and support this refuge. This is really well worth a visit. Set within lovely grounds, with many trees, shrubs etc. Good footpaths and interesting areas with streams, pools etc. Very interesting to see the abundance of wildlife in seemingly natural surroundings was a delight to see. Good to be able to identify the different animals, birds and reptiles up close. Very well kept areas. See more..

-Interesting
Thursday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks
This is a 15-hectare area on the edge of Puyo that was reforested with the most important trees for medicine and other uses by the indigenous people. Come to learn about these plants, these cultures, to improve your health with these, to reduce your impact on the environment, to buy handicrafts made by the indigenous people, or just breathe fresh air and have contact with nature. This is a safe thing to do during the Coronavirus Pandemic, since we are outside with lots of air flow. The guides may take off their masks to visitors can hear them, but we ask the visitors to keep their face masks or shields on, plus we try to keep at least 2 meters between people who do not live together. In addition, we have natural medicine for many things, including Coronavirus. See more..

-Highly recommend the Puyo tour! Nantu is amazing! Safe & Memorable!
Thursday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Eco Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
It all started with a private tour ride from Puyo office to the Amazon rainforest! Vehicle, driver and our tour guide, Nantu, was awesome! Nantu really took his time to explain to us the many usages of plants/trees from the rainforest. Lunch was tasty. Our tour guide was great, took care of us, make sure we're safe and sound, but at the same time having a great time! Thank you, Nantu! See more..

-The BEST Tour we ever had / One day tour to Amazonia from Puyo
Sightseeing Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
This was the Best tour we ever participated on, We booked through our Hotel early in the morning, were picked up at 9 and spent wonderful day in the Amazonia, nothing was a problem, all our wishes were filled, programm even anhanced, and this all for half the price as Travel agencies in Banos offer. We returned even later than planned, having longlasting memories (Indian village, lunch, walk with indian guy explaining all medical plants up to the waterfall, very nice viewpoint on Pestaza river and Amazonia, Canoa river trip, AnimalRescue place). I really reccomend this agency, our whole family was totally happy !! See more..
- 4.5 Amazon Rainforest (10 reviews)
-Vast Space Adventure
Forests
Amazonia is as fascinating, as unpredictable place. For those who want to visit this corner of the world is best to know as many locals as possible, but experience itself is unforgettable. What is important - with all tourist impact - visitors should pay attention to fact that tourism overall can damage natural habitat and lifestyle of natives, therefore it is crucial for those who visit Amazonia to remember about respecting rules and space limits...And it is also a learning curve about our planet and comfort level.... -Good place for souvenirs.
Spent 1-2 hours Art Galleries
I suspect this place is like the bulk supply store for all the little souvenir shops. Lots of cheap little knickknacks and bigger not-so-cheap ones. You can buy things individually, but if you wanted 85 tiny wooden parrots to give to everyone you know, this is the place to go! See more..

- 4.0 Zoorefugio Tarqui (42 reviews)
-Fabulous little zoological park!
Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Zoos
Tarqui is a little gem of a place run by a super committed family that really invest themselves into the park. We volunteered here for two weeks and loved every minute, despite the work being hard. For the day visitor, the park has a great array of animals: large felines (jaguars, ocelots, pumas, margay), rare birds, monkeys, capybara, tapirs, peccaries, cabeza de mattes, caimans and much more. The enclosures are better sized than in many European zoos and incorporate the natural environment whilst allowing you to get pretty close to the animals. The entrance fee is low, so this is great value and we'd encourage people to donate a little extra to help the animals. The park also has a pool and restaurant attached which buzzes with locals at the weekend, in a laid back and family atmosphere. Worth a visit, a donation or a stint as a volunteer! See more..

-Good museum in the middle of Puyo
Spent < 1 hour Natural History Museums
I stumbled onto this museum in the middle of town, within a couple blocks of the Parque 12 de Mayo and Iglesia Cathedral. The museum isn't huge, but offers a look inside several native huts with authentic living utensils, kitchens, animal hides. I think it is run by the city, free of charge, and has a great number of arrowhead plus framed spiders and insects. See more..
