  1. 5.0 Sorya Kayaking Adventures (384 reviews)
    - #1 kayak experience!
    Saturday: 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM Kayaking & Canoeing
    Sorya Kayaking Adventures image
It was a lovely afternoon on the water. The kayaking, taking a dip in the water, and the flooded forrest has a magical feeling. And then the highlight, spotting the dolphins! The guide was seeing them already quite early, but it took us a bit longer to spot them If you watch where you hear their sound, you'll see them. We also enjoyed sunset on the water so it was a really relaxed afternoon. And besides our small group of 7 people, there were no other groups, so it felt really peaceful. Highly recommend Sorya kayaking! Also for the delicious pumpkin bread and friendly staff! See more..
  2. 5.0 Dolphin Kayaking Adventures (184 reviews)
    - Fantastic morning

Had an absolutely fantastic and exhilarating morning with Mr Lucky, kayaking across, down, and back across the Mekong to see the beautiful dolphins. And see them we did, lots of them it seemed, although their numbers are sadly much decreased from what they used to be. About 3/4 through, we stopped at a beautiful sandy island in the river and Mr Lucky produced bananas and sticky rice with beans for us to replenish our energy. You can also have a swim here too if you like, which is a good idea as you'll probably have a sweat on at that point. The final crossing from the west back to the east bank was pretty demanding as the wind had picked up and was blowing in our faces, but at the end of the morning, everyone in our group was happy and I recommend this experience to anyone. There is a certain level of physical fitness required, but it is suitable for both adults and children. See more..

Our tour was customized for a group of 18 experienced travellers. It was very well designed to show us most of Cambodian touristic highligths, but also every day lifestyle of ordinary people. Our local guides were very good, amiable and well informed. Our host- Sithy Hengchan - and our driver Happy, were so professional ,but at the same time friendly and warm. I was impressed by the fact that in this country with developing tourism ,they are so concerned about the environemet , soustainable growth and benefits for the local communitys. Unforgetable experience, strongly recommendable. See more..

Tola and the CRDT team did an amazing job at organising one of the most life changing tours I have ever done. Tola went above and beyond to make our group feel welcome and happy. The sights we saw, the food we ate, the Khmer language we learnt and the fun banter that was had, were a daily occurrence on our CRDT tour. Thank you Tola and your team. I can highly recommend these guys if you want a reliable and trustworthy organisation to show you the real Cambodian way of life. See more..
  5. 4.5 Koh Trong (265 reviews)
    - Mekong Island Paradise
    Islands
    Koh Trong image
Just opposite Kratie (25 cents by ferry, ferry operates 6 am to 6 pm) this mekong island paradise is the real deal for those who enjoy nature and traditional Cambodian culture on a car free island. Bikes are available for rent and are the best option to explore the island and wave "hello" at the friendly locals. The island offers many lovely homestays and the gorgeous Rajaburi Villas to stay overnight. Tourists mainly come to Kratie for the river dolphins, but Koh Trong (or Koh Throng) is the real deal in Kratie. If you come to Kratie without visiting (ideally staying overnight on) Koh Throng you may just miss the best Kratie has to offer. See more..

  7. 4.0 Mekong River (224 reviews)
    - Everybody should take this tour
    Bodies of Water
    Mekong River image
Although there are no guarantees, if you want to see dolphins go to the zoo or a marine park,it is vital that you take this tour in order to support the dolphin watching business. Not so long ago these animals were hunted and eaten. Now, since recently the local community starts to realize that the dolphins are worth more alive than dead. Many fishermen have switched to dolphin watching. They are thriving but there habitat is in danger. I have seen multiple mothers with babies. The biggest thread is the dams on the Mekong river the chinese want to built. If this is happening they will all die. No danger to get seasick, you are not at sea. With a powerful zoom lens and a tripod you do not even need to get on the boat. You see them from the Mekong banks. See more..

    100 Colums Pagoda image
Sambour is a town, little more than a village really, located 36 km north of the town of Kratie, but still within Kratie province. It is a fairly ramshackle town these days though during the 7th century, there was famous royal palace located here. Its site is now occupied by the much-abused 100 Column Pagoda, which was built in the 16th century in honour of a Khmer princess, but razed by the Khmer Rouge in 1976. It has now been rebuilt. The interior has impressive mural paintings and there is a curious stupa behind the wat which looks older than anything else here to us. Was this perhaps a funerary monument to the Khmer princess of legend? See more..
  10. 4.0 Wat Rokar Kandal (4 reviews)
    - Gorgeous, Historic Pagoda

    Wat Rokar Kandal image
Cambodia is famous for its stone temples from the Angkor era, but there are very few historic wooden ones which have survived to the present day. One of the few traditional timber pagodas is Wat Rokar Kandal, which is located about 2 kms from the centre of Kratie on the road south. This early 19th century temple is a must-see if you are in Kratie. Set just a short distance from the Mekong River, it is beautiful both outside and in. The wooden roof has beautiful and ornate decoration and inside you can see gold stencilling on the slender columns. It is usually open of a day and there is a woman inside who now uses it to sell high-quality local handicrafts. See more..
