  13. 4.0 Bokor National Park (737 reviews)
    - Mt Bokor day trip
    Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM, 10:00 PM - 1:00 AM Spent More than 3 hours National Parks
    Bokor National Park image
The drive up the mountain was very interesting, the jungle growth was fascinating, the monkeys on the road were cute (especially the many babies) and the road, although winding, was in excellent condition. It has been sealed since the review I read prior to my trip. On the top I preferred the historical, cultural and religious sites more than the new development. The short walk around the waterfall is worth it, but don't continue too far in to the jungle without being aware of the danger of meeting a tiger! Relax at the lake for a picnic. Lunch can be bought at the cafe near the waterfall. The view from the top is awesome. See more..
  14. 4.0 Phnom Chhngok Cave Temple (324 reviews)
    - Fun to climb down through cave
    Caverns & Caves
    Phnom Chhngok Cave Temple image
I enjoyed seeing this cave and of course we were followed by 4 local girls to be guides. The other girls in my tour group gave them nothing which is abit stingy I gave them just afew thousand riel.. but they are useful for climbing down the cave so I think I should of given more at least a dollar. The cave itself is pretty cool to see. Good photos and easy walk up the stairs and going through the cave down to bottom really isn't that hard. See more..

    Bodies of Water
    Brateak Krola Lake image
The Secret Lake is a man-made lake or dam, that grows and shrinks with the seasons. Built using slave labour during the Khmer Rouge rule, it is believed that the lake received its name not because of its hidden location, but because of what lies beneath it. The story is that the Khmer Rouge built the dam using with the help of prisoners and captured villagers. During the construction thousands of Cambodians lost their lives and were buried in a mass grave beneath the lake. The name Secret Lake therefore denotes the secret location of the mass graves. Bokor Hill Station image
Very nice views from the top, you can see all the way to Sihanoukville and Phu Quoc island. It is fresh so it is good to take a jacket with you. There are quite a lot of buildings being built but still a lot of natural areas. We enjoyed the Popokvil waterfall the most !! See more..
  19. 3.5 Old Catholic Church (216 reviews)
    - Beautiful building
    Churches & Cathedrals
    Old Catholic Church image
This church is beautiful and the view stunning! There is a path behind it that leads on top of a hill from where you have a fantastic view of the not-so-beautiful new casino. Mist and clouds crept up the mountain range and it looked as if they were trying to swallow the casino. It's just a shame that people throw their trash here and there. See more..

    Teuk Chhou Rapids image
Just a river with rocks in it. Splish. Splash. Splush. Nothing spectacular unless you enjoy watching locals trying to swim, etc. Lots of dogs around and it will cost $2 to enter the area. I can make more interesting rapids in the shower. Only $1 if anyone wants to see. See more..

  23. 3.5 The Old Royal Cinema (30 reviews)
    - A piece of old Cambodia
    Historic Sites
    The Old Royal Cinema image
There are two old cinemas in Kampot. One has been demolished all bar the facade but thankfully this one is still standing although in dire need of a makeover. I went inside as was met by a nice lady who was welcoming but spoke very little English. It was almost too dark to take photos and a bit gloomy but gave off a certain ghostly atmosphere. Hopefully it will be preserved or tastefully restored but with a brand new cinema opening up 100 yards or so away that now seems unlikely. A piece of history but architecture or film buffs will appreciate it more. See more..
  24. 3.5 Salt Fields (22 reviews)
    - Really interesting
    Spent < 1 hour Farms
    Salt Fields image
We stopped at the salt fields on a tour around Kampot and I found it really interesting to see all that goes into producing the salt that we take so easily for granted. Teams of people were draining sections ready to be filled with salt water tomorrow, whilst in other sections, workers were carefully raking the salt that had solidified on the surface into piles. Painstaking work in such hot weather. See more..

  27. 3.0 Kampot Provincial Museum (29 reviews)
    - Surprisingly interesting
Friday: Spent < 1 hour History Museums
    Kampot Provincial Museum image
March 2020 - $2 entry which maybe a little steep for such as small museum but it's a case of quality over quantity. Explanations in Khmer, French and English and some interesting historical pictures including the folders in the corner. Amazing how old some of the statues are. Takes about 30mins to go around ... closed at lunchtime. See more..
  28. 3.0 Tourist Information Center (29 reviews)
    - Booking shop.
    Visitor Centers
    Tourist Information Center image
It's not actually a tourist information service. Sure they're polite and friendly and will attempt to answer any questions you have. But that's only because they want to sell you a bus ticket, rent you a bike or get you to go on a tour. See more..
  29. 3.0 Bokor Night Market (9 reviews)
    - Nice Place
Spent < 1 hour Farmers Markets
    Bokor Night Market image
I really like this place. It's relaxing, authentic khmer and everyone is friendly Nice dishes, i asked for Beefsalad. 1,75$ and it was really not bad for this price. Playing areas for kids, food places for everyone. I enjoyed the pork chop on a stick for only 50ct. Its at the riverside , along the riverside road. They also sell clothing and footwear. Khmer language cinema in the middle. See more..
  30. 2.0 Teuk Chhou Zoo (58 reviews)

    Zoos
    Teuk Chhou Zoo image
Terrible, sad, depressing, inhumane, poorly maintained, unhappy and miserable looking animals. Steer clear of this one!! See more..
