   We visited Heng Naysim by bike from PP (just take the ferry for 500 riel per person). Great ride and what a warm welcome with fruit and water. She explains everything so patiently. They really grow their own silk and weave it into amazing products. We bought silk scarfs (10-15$) and ties ($7). Very affordable and good souvenirs. See more..

   We had ventured the 50 km from Phnom Penh to Oudong Mountain to visit the old royal capital of Cambodia, and were totally disappointed with what we found. But as we were driving back, our tuk tuk driver-cum-guide took us to the nearby Vipassana Dhurak Buddhist Centre, and we spent an hour marvelling at the glorious architecture and gardens of this site. The primary purpose of the centre is to teach Vipassana meditation techniques, but the complex is open to the public and you are welcome to wander the gardens and grounds, and to enter the main temple, which is grand affair, sitting up several layers of stairs on a mound. When you go inside, look up at the incredible detail of the murals painted on the ceilings. If you visit here, please remember that this is a living religious sanctuary, so please dress modestly and act with decorum, not forgetting to take off you shoes if you go into the main wat.    Udong is beautiful views and surrounding by jungle, walk up by the stairs case about 369 steps but it not so steeped, there some monkeys living in area. It is the religious places and on the top inside the power , there are more then 5000 statues, it is beautiful to walk around the central tower on the top.    Worth the hike up the steps and the stupas are beautiful especially the most modern one and the views are sublime. Just don’t go when a festival is on as we did, it was bedlam on the festival of Pchum Ben both human and mechanical traffic. See more..

   After visiting the Stupa on top of the Udong Mountain (more steps than you can count, see my review), close to the Udong Mountain is the Cambodian Buddhist Meditation Center. This complex radiates quietness and calm. One of the buildings is a shrine for the remains of a holy monk. Our guide used the visit to say his prayers there; very impressive. Also we were in time to watch a large procession of monks in their orange robes, going on their way with their alms plate; their daily routine. A visit to the center is to be recommended.
