  1. 5.0 Angkor Wat (48.4k reviews)
    - Bucket list check!
Spent More than 3 hours Ancient Ruins
    Angkor Wat image
We were lucky to visit this place in march 2022 when only a few tourists visited Cambodia after the lockdowns. The pictures we got with minimal tourism was awesome. Based from this experience I would highly recommend you to visit during the early hours of the day, ideally on sunrise. The temple and surroundings just makes you speechless. One of the most amazing places I have visited. See more..
  2. 5.0 Bayon Temple (20.7k reviews)
    - Far superior to Angkor Wat
Saturday: 5:00 AM - 6:00 PM Ancient Ruins
    Bayon Temple image
Everyone knows the temple at Angkor Wat. It’s one of the seven wonderfuls of the world. But the less familiar Bayon Temple is far more impressive in its detail and design than it much larger brother. The reliefs along the outer walls are so impressive and still clearly tell the amazing stories of both battles/conquests and everyday life for the Cambodians. The crowds, while still significant, are much less here at Bayon and the temple does offer places where visitors can sit and marvel at the beautiful of the place without someone stepping on your foot. See more..

Our tour guide Darun did a fabulous job in giving us a tour on Angkor Wat. You can ask him anything and he'd have all the necessary local knowledge for you. Darun also knows all the secret spots to take amazing pictures and he happens to be a good photographer that took a lot of memorable pictures for us! We enjoyed our tour so much on the first day, we did not hesitate to book another tour with him again for the next day! Sorry Darun we both were quite busy after getting back to Hong Kong, but I had to come back to drop you a review because you deserve it!:) Attached is a picture of Darun with a butterfly that followed him during our visit. Book a tour with him, you won't regret it! See more..

  14. 4.5 Cambodia Landmine Museum (2.496 reviews)
    - Glad we visited
Saturday: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums
    Cambodia Landmine Museum image
The Landmine Museum was founded by ex-child soldier Aki Ra as a way to tell the world about the horrors landmines had infilcted on his native Cambodia. He used the proceed to clear landmines wherever he could find them. In the process of clearing small, remote villages, he began bringing home wounded and orphaned children that he and his wife raised as their own, along side their own children. Today the Museum not only tells Aki Ra's unique history and the history of landmines in Cambodia, but it is also home to over two dozen abandoned, orphaned or destitute children. 15. 4.5 Preah Khan (2.110 reviews)
    - Worth seeing if you have the time!
Saturday: 5:00 AM - 6:00 PM Ancient Ruins
    Preah Khan image
We hired a guide months before actually arriving in Siem Reap and WOW did it pay off. Plus it was a great price for just the 2 of us to be gone 10+ hours. We were doing 2 circuits in one day. We arrived early afternoon and there were very little people there. Ta Som very similar to Ta Prohm. A lot of the jungle and tree root have grown threw on over the sight. But non the less it is incredible in its own way. Preah Khan means Royal Sword. Preah Khan was built in the 12th century for King Jayavarman VII to honour his father. the Architecture, statues and cavings still look amazing today. We spent about an hour here. Could have maybe used another 30mins. See more..

  17. 4.5 Things to Do in Siem Reap Province (1.454 reviews)
    - Ancient Beng Mealea temple in the jungle
Spent More than 3 hours Historic Sites • Ancient Ruins
Things to Do in Siem Reap Province image
I am a frequent traveller to Cambodia and have seen the the Angkor and surrounding temples a few times. During my recent holiday to Cambodia we decided to visit Beng Mealea (= Lotus Pond) temple that hasn't been opened to the public long because land mines had to be cleared to give a safe access to the site. Only since January 2020 Beng Mealea temple has been included into the Angkor National Park entry ticket. Previously it was a separate entry of $5. We were lucky because of the sudden high entry cost there were hardly any visitors at Beng Mealea temple. We could explore the temple in peace and able to take many nice pictures. We enjoyed our visit to this ancient temple surrounded by the jungle. On the way back to Siem Reap we visited Kampong Phluk a floating village on the Tonle Sap lake, the largest fresh water lake in South East Asia with an area of 2,700 km². See more..
  18. 4.5 Pre Rup (1.238 reviews)
    - Classic pre-Angkor temple, worth a visit
Saturday: 5:00 AM - 6:00 PM Ancient Ruins • Religious Sites
    Pre Rup image
Although not often visited by group tours Pre Rup, built by Rajendravarman II around 962, is on the Grand Circuit and definitely worth a visit. There is a wooden staircase at one side which is safer (and less harmful to the monument) than trying to climb the steps. The stone carving is not so exquisite as at Angkor Wat or Banteay Srei but it is a classic Hindu mountain style temple and, according to our taxi driver, a good place to see the sun rise. See more..
  19. 4.5 Baphuon Temple (1.064 reviews)
    - Beside Bayon and often overlooked but well worth the visit. Fantastic vistas
Saturday: 5:00 AM - 6:00 PM Historic Sites • Ancient Ruins
    Baphuon Temple image
This temple is often skipped by tourists doing the circuit tour of Angkor Thom as it is beside the more famous Bayon temple and they are in a hurry to fit the big three in along with the rest of the crowd. This was our 2nd visit to Siem Reap and we were doing the lesser visited temples. Baphuon was our first stop for the day and we shared it with about 5 other tourists the whole time which was amazing. The raised walkway towards the temple is impressive and seems to go on forever then you get to the foot of the temple and you realise just how massive it is. The temple is in great condition and has some awesome reliefs. The view from the top is incredible. Do not by pass this temple, it is fantastic See more..

  21. 4.5 Banteay Samre (808 reviews)
    - One of the nicest temples in Angkor Wat
Historic Sites • Ancient Ruins • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings
    Banteay Samre image
One of several temples within the National Park, this stands out and is really worth an additional long drive to reach due to the problem of the carvings on the temple. It is, in addition, the one I understand of done in red sandstone. The details are very complex, warriors, with dancers, and also nagas covering nearly every inch of the wall space. Truly remarkable. But there are lotus ponds on the exterior of the walls of the temples, which makes for a number of great photographs. This's a little temple, therefore you do not require the massive quantity of time right here, but with all of the information, it is good to enjoy at the leisure of yours. Additionally, they have a terrific small museum/gallery exhibit, detailing tales, archeology, and the history of archeology theirs attempting to take areas of the temple to promote to museums. See more..
  22. 4.5 Banteay Kdei (676 reviews)
    - Smaller version of Ta Prohm
Saturday: 5:00 AM - 6:00 PM Historic Sites • Ancient Ruins • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings
    Banteay Kdei image
This temple, constructed from late 12th to early 13th century, is a kind of smaller version of Ta Prohm. Both these temples were decided to be left as found by the French. This caused much work to prevent the djungle to destroy more of the temples. If you have seen Ta Prohm and are running out of time then you can skip this temple. See more..
