It is not easy to get there but is worthy. I hired the canoe driver and it takes 1 1/2 days to come to Serra. I spent two days there. I hired local guide and we walked in rain forest and visited several waterfalls. I have great memories from Serra do Moa. You have to go there during the rainy season when Rio Moa has plenty of water. You might be unable to reach Serra due to Rio Moa water level being very low. See more..

I think by the fact that this library is currently the #3 attraction in Rio Branco sums up the city quite well. I just wanted to find some wifi to contact a friend, and after the tourist information ladies looked entirely bemused by the presence of a gringo in their city, they pointed me in the direction of the library. Once there, the helpful staff attempted to take my life story in registering me for the library, which took a fair while. However, the facilities were good, with plenty of free computers to use, a large quiet study area, mini cafe and, of course, plenty of books. Appeared to be a hotspot for the youth of Rio Branco... For tourists, it is just a regular modern theatre, with no special point of interest except, perhaps, the two marquetry panels on both sides of the stage. The author is a famous local artist, Marqueson, originally form Cruzeiro do Sul. To see the panels, you have to ask permission to the manager, and she usually is there from 9 to 11:30 am and from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. See more..
