A historical gem. Read so much, full of pictures from old stories books, finally I managed to to see for myself. The fortress itself as an engineering achievement the canal included, the operation to seize the fortress is a story of its own. The totality of the museum display, the tours outside gives you a very authentic feeling of how a surprise para-glider infill attack can be launched and how the end-state can be achieved. As with all real stories, tragic loss of life on both sides. Witnessing the impact of the hollow charges one can only imagine how the Belgian defenders must have felt.
