Located on Plaza De Virgen there are several stunning buildings ,one I loved to view was Basilica De La Virgen De Los Desamparados ,a stunning looking church building. dedicated to the patron Saint of Valencia and also one of the most important religious buildings. Constructed in the 17th century ,the first church building constructed in the Baroque style of architecture that's so pleasing on the eye, constructed between 1652-1667 from designs from architect Diego Martinez Ponce De Urrana ,the eye catching dome is not centrally located but is nearer the wonderful cathedral,it's a great looking building,we viewed it as we were pub and bar hopping around the wonderful plaza,my twin brother Stephen and I took some pretty photo's of the church before moving on ,it's easy to locate on Plaza De Virgen and is well worth checking out if you're planning a holiday to Valencia. You can easily drive to the top by car, scooter or bike. Only a few last steps to do until you reach the cross. Even when you don't want to walk up to where there cross is, there is an incredible view from the parking. My father has got a bad knee but still made it up. It's a small unsteady path. At night its very dark so its recommended to bring flash lights or a charged phone with one. Really loved this place! Young adults come here to chill. It's a very quiet place above a busy city. There are not a lot of tourists now due to covid, but I can imagine it could be very full of cars during high season.. Could be you need to park on the side of the road up then. Just go! See more..

Interesting that of the many claims concerning the Holy Grail this is the one that the Vatican has given some official recognition to. In the beautiful inspiring chapel the cup of eastern agate stone sits at the centre of the exquisite Gothic Altar. Here since 1916, it has been the destination of pilgrimage by multitudes of believers over time. See more..

Well worth a hike or drive up from Alcossebre. The path is reasonably easy although there are some steep sections where a rope is provided for you to pull yourself up. I took it fairly slowly and got up there in less than an hour. The hermitage (and the toilets) were locked but the view was very good Tips: do the walk in the morning before the sun gets too hot; don’t attempt the walk in flip flops or flimsy shoes; take plenty of water and sun lotion. Don’t forget your camera. See more..
