    - What a wonderful place!
Spent 1-2 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas • Waterfalls
    Fonts de l'Algar image
We hired a car for £22 from Benidorm and headed to these beauties for a day out. Not too busy and plenty of places to swim and chill. Lots of cafes to grab a snack at the entrance/exit too. Remember to take change for parking and it is €8 each for entry I would definitely recommend hiring a car instead of getting a trip as it works out cheaper and you can spend all the time you want there. Palmeral de Elche image
Dating from around the 10th century, the Moors began the largest palmeral in the world. Groves of date palms were planted, coupled with an intricate irrigation system. A system used in the Arab world was incorporated into Europe. Today it is the palm trees that are the stars. Much of the area can be meandered at no cost. There are charges for a museum and the Huerto del Cura Gardens. See more..

    - One of the last unspoilt places on the Spanish coast

By writing this review I probably put at risk what is one of the last stretches of unspoilt coastline in southern Spain. If you are prepared to walk then you can take in a wonderful stretch of coastline largely free from half finished villas and derelict building sites. Beware of mountain bikers on the steeper sections of pathways. The Natural Park is both peaceful and easily accessible, especially from Peñiscola. Walkers of all abilities can take advantage of the main paths, but take a picnic lunch as there are no places to buy food and drink. It is possible to drive along the coastal road if you are careful, it is mostly unsurfaced and a bit rough in places. Torre Badum is a good place to stop, as is the small car park a few Km south of the tower at Pebret. We were there in February and had the place mostly to ourselves See more..
