Chapel of the Holy Grail, Valencian Country, Spain

4.5 (952 reviews) Spent Ranking #18 in Province of Valencia Religious Sites

Exquisite as befits Christ's Chalice

Interesting that of the many claims concerning the Holy Grail this is the one that the Vatican has given some official recognition to. In the beautiful inspiring chapel the cup of eastern agate stone sits at the centre of the exquisite Gothic Altar. Here since 1916, it has been the destination of pilgrimage by multitudes of believers over time.

    Cool experience but alittle pricey
Cool place to see the cup of the holy grail. Good audio tours available through your phone. Kinda expensive entrance charge for a cathedral, but we enjoyed the museum attached to it as well, they have a lot of old artifacts to see.

Search the church for the Holy Grail
I visited this cathedral over 20 years ago and it has changed a bit (became more commercialized), but was actually more interesting than I remember. Obviously getting close to “the Holy Grail” is almost impossible, but if you you’re religious or enjoy history, the church is worth some time. There are lots of artifacts and even an archaeological dig site available for visiting. The opulence of the Catholic Church is very much on display, but I always admire looking and marveling at the architecture and construction. Well worth a visit. Only rated a 4 because the “Holy Grail” is so far away you can barely even see it.
