This waterfall is really nice, it has access by the hotel/restaurant near the road where you can park and pay for the entrance. From there you can walk down to the waterfall, it has 2 pools, with very nice space to take a bath. For the second pool (it's actually on the lake) you can also go by a motorboat, this one is better for people who can swim because it's very deep. It is definitely hard to get there and I am glad for it. This makes the waterfall better preserved from the destruction that accompany lots of tourists. There is a bar there with an amazing view. You can have lunch and drink beers while listening to live music. The place is not overpriced considering the isolated location (and view). Getting back to the waterfall. After you get there, there is a short trail that takes you to the bottom. Then, you have to walk up river for like 200m stepping on slippery rocks (some people are scared to continue). After you get to the pool, you can relax, appreciate the view, feel the waterfall (as a shower), and even go behind it. There is no shade there, so bring sunscreen and enjoy your day.See more..

We did an extended day hike to this high falls for lunch. With one of the couples being seniors, it was a leisurely hike of moderate difficulty with a narrow footbridge crossing of stream and some rocky sections near the falls. Swimming is possible at the falls. Hummingbirds were flitting back and forth over the pool and in and out of the cascade mist.We took about 6 hours...but it can be done faster. You can also bike fairly close to falls but will need to abandon your bike for the last stretch. A mountain bike or a fat tire bike is required since the paths are sandy and soft.See more..

Outside of town. Did not expect it to be so beautifull. Off the dirtroad, straight into nature. We came for the waterfall. It's underground. A bit of a climb down and a little crawling. Be here early since the same place has 5 different waterfalls and some can be a good walk to get there. The bad part: you must pay 20 reais per person and there is a free parking. The waterfall is just outside Milho Verde on the main road very clearly sign posted on the left coming into the town on the right leaving We parked on the side of the road and walked along the dirt road to the entrance although I am sure you can park by the entrance. Among other things there are no barbecues allowed but I am sure it would be nice to bring a picnic with you and sit on the rocks beside the waterfall there is a small lunch bar on the way to the first drop but we didn't visit it and it didn't seem to be opened. The falls are divided into 2 drops the first one is easily accessible by flat ground where you will find the 2 derelict mill buildings. It is a bit trickier to get to the other drop it requires some confident and adventurous rock climbing but it is well worth it you can get a great view of both the drops and the surrounding countryside.
