Good
We had a tour guide but the museum is quite small. We did go here after we had been to the mine and found more about salt mines.

Impressive salt mine
Do not expect to visit a museum. There are some artifacts (the exploitation started in [the year] 1900), but there are only a few in display. What is impressive is the sheer size of the mineral deposit and the way human activity carved gigantic tunnels that look more like over-sized cathedral ceilings. The entire place gives the impression of overwhelming natural grandeur disproportionate to the anything that is man-made. Stepping in the main corridor, I felt utterly small as a human being, people look the size of mice, maybe even smaller. The lighting is very artistic and not too ostentatious (except the "Christmas-y light installation by the bridge). A section of the mine functions as an ambulatory for aerosol treatment. There is also a section dedicated to the ancient history of the country (statues of the local ancient king "Decebalus" who fought against the roman king, Trajan). I also enjoyed the "van ride", in total darkness, through the tunnel that lead to the mine entrance. It's a very nice place to visit in a rainy, cold day. I tried this fun game with my preteen: spot the communist emblem on the walls of the mine.
