For the fans of the Miyazaki Hayao's Spirited Away, the Ziyun Building definitely reminded me of the Yubaba's Palace. The pond, the buildings around it - all makes you feel like being in the movie. The distant lights of the Tang Pedestrian Mall are like the market where Chihiro's parents got turned into pigs. Entrance was from the West Gate. For foreigners without Chinese IDs had to show passports at the visitor's centre and the enter through a passage for disabled - kudos to the place for having such. At 17:30 there was a fountain and light show in front of the Ziyun building in the pond. Without stopping for landmarks, the park can be walked around in under two hours. On the east and north sides, each lantern along the walkway represents a sad love story from the Tang Dynasty period. There is a theater on site for which shows there are separate tickets sold. This is a fabulous mountain hike for all ages. I took my two children - 7 and 10 years old with me and despite some whining in the end thy loved it. We climbed all the way from the bottom up to the lake where we had a picnic then we took a hike over to the rocks and walked through the caves. Both of these places were a hi-light of the trip as well as the incredible views. Really awesome four/five hour hike in amazing mountains. I totally recommend it to other travelers. See more..

This is an enormous park that is right outside the grounds of the Great Goose Pagoda Temple. There are beautiful dancing fountains, lots of colorful statues and tableau commemorating famous Chinese operas, places to picnic to sit, separate areas of the park dedicated to opera, literature, etc., and lots of walking paths as well as beautiful plantings and flowers. You could easily spend hours here, meandering around the paths, taking in everything there is to see. Right at the beginning of the park is a group of outdoor vendors selling all sorts of typical touristic souvenirs. This park is a lovely place to visit if you come to the Great Goose Pagoda. Located in the Meixian County and at the northern foothills of Baoji City of Shaanxi Province, it is a natural botanical garden and a well-known place of Taoist worship. It offers spectacular views of its surroundings and autumn colours of its numerous flora and fauna, and trees, especially in October. This was a very enjoyable and energetic walk. First we had to walk 3-4 km to get to the cable car ride. The cable car ride was one of these non-stop types so you had to be nifty on your feet getting in and out of the cars. There were helpers opening the doors for you so it was easier than it appeared initially. The ride up was exciting. Then there are lots of steps to get further up the mountain. There are flat parts also. I'm a fit 58 year old male and I found I could cope but be prepared! The views from the top were well worth the exercise. I would happily do this again. See more..

This is the best place for those for really love in nature. If you travel from XIAN it will take around 2 hours ride by a car. This is located in south part of the Xian. 45 kilometers from downtown of Xian city. Recommended to visit there in the morning. Because there are more steps to climb up if you don't want to take the cable car. They have facilities of cable car , slipping way , hanging cable way and boating facility for come down. Very beautiful mountain Range , spectacular views all along the way. Lovly waterfalls and different types of nature attractions. I recommend to climb up by cable car and descending by walk. Don't worry about food and water , there are more shops all around this place. See more..

There's a walk in these mountains, past the Panda Reserve, called the '2000 steps'. Do it. It may be tiring, but the view from the top of the mountains, looking down on an idyllic, remote Chinese landscape, is unforgettable. Park your car, climb up a massive flight of steps to the ticket office and wait for a bus which takes 40 minutes to corkscrew up the mountainside. Then your walk in the mountain begins. Well made path constantly climbs up through woods, and will eventually reach a hotel clinging to the mountainside, where the adventurous can try out a glass-floored walkway. There is an excellent farmhouse restaurant 5 minutes away from the entrance car park. At the northern edge of the village turn sharply downhill by an advert for doors. Apart from the fact that there is trash (a lot!) anywhere tourists stop (and they stop anywhere) especially at the few attractions worth seeing (like the Ju Weng Tan waterfall), nothing has been done in this national park to make it pleasant to visit (no satisfactory signage, no well-planed rest area, only one very narrow road where driving can be a nightmare, no picknick area, but TRASH EVERYWHERE you stop! What is even WORSE is that I when I arrived at a guest house in a small village at the western edge of the park, 4 local "leaders" came to tell me that I was not allowed to stay because I was a foreigner (I'lm white, they would not even have noticed if I had been Korean or Japanese). For close to one hour, they insisted I had to go, but since they were not policemen and my papers/visa are valid, I didn't budge, and they gave up their threats only when I showed a picture where I appear with the Chinese president. Bunch of chickens! The minute you show that you are not afraid, THEY become afraid. I'm being constantly called "laowei" (foreigner), pointed at, laughed at, stared at as if I was a zoo animal, and more, but I cannot accept RACISM, and I will fight for my right to be where I want, the minute it's legal. I was already shocked a little while ago to have to show my ...passport to enter the Yading National Park (yes!!), but I cannot accept RACISM against anyone, including against myself, and I will DEFEND myself tooth and nails if I'm attacked. 今天在风景区里面玩儿了四五个小时，全是绿树成荫的盘山公路。这个风景区不开车来逛会十分困难。山上的树木呈现出各种颜色非常漂亮。国庆来这个地方季节太好了！门票只要六十元，有山有水而且是三条江的分水岭:嘉陵江，汉江，和清姜河。大家可以考虑在景区里面的农家乐住下来慢慢玩儿。张志强

I have visited Li Ping in midsummer coming from Hanzhong, Shaanxi (the park introduction card says 65km although it's much more, arround 90). Be prepared for a typical chinese style tour, which includes mini bus (after ticket area) driving you close to prepared-enclosed paths where you can walk next to the river until you reach the next bus stop in order to go further. Better not to try to follow your route as there are guards not allowing that. When it comes to the scenery one can say its beautiful with nice river streams (it's not Alps or Rocky Mountains, so do not even think to drink the water there) high cliffs hanging all over your head, small waterfalls and geological remains from the Peculiar period. Locals want to believe that rocks look like dragon scales, that's why they call it "Dragon Mountain" (no connection with the YuLongXueShan in Yunnan) which is ok, although a try to "fake" some rocks shaping them, by adding smaller stones and colored cement parts, into a dragon lying on the ground, is a cute "fail". As mentioned, guards are all around and public toilets as well every 20'-30'. There is also a "Chalet" like restaurant close to the top (for those few not carrying supermarket hand bags with tons of food and water making their mountain walking enjoyable ;) ). One day is enough to visit most of the areas of the scenic spot, although if one wants, can stay there for the night and visit other neighboring spots as well. See more..

This place is very suitable for kids and adults together to go. You can taste an interesting history of Emperor Yandi who was the very first emperor of China. You can see very old houses that are located all around the park. All the houses should show how the places were situated in the past - whose house, family members, meeting rooms, etc. It is very interesting, signs are bilingual with very good English so no problem for non Chinese speakers. Moreover the park offers various kinds of attractions for kids to play. So I consider this as a very combination for a family visit. As for me, I took my daughter there to let her taste and discover more about history of China, she was interested and she could also enjoy other activities such as rope line, zip line, slides and climbing, scary house, etc. So if you visit Baoji city as a family of with small children, I think this place is a must.
