  1. 4.0 Shu Yuan Men ( Ancient Culture Street) (170 reviews)

Shu Yuan Men ( Ancient Culture Street) image
This is the only place I've seen in China where you can watch the people make the souveniers as you buy them. The artists are painting, making stamps (traditional Chinese things made from marble), practicing calligraphy, and so on. It's a much more peaceful walk, usually not very crowded, and the general ambiance is calm and open-minded. The artists don't shout at you to buy their wares (unlike Muslim Street). Prices are surprisingly fair (e.g. 30 yuan for stamps, 50 for some paintings). The stalls close early, around 6 pm, but stick around for some street bbq! See more..

    Ma Wei Yi image
this is a place where the lady Yang who dead, lady Yang is the most famous imperial concubine and she's fat but beautiful. We live not far away, and always go there and have food, traditional food and really local constructions, people and other historic items, really worthy to go. it's around 1h from Xi'an by car, and plenty of parking place if you go there early. besides the Ma Wei Yi, you can also visit some museum around. there's a very cute and small hotel inside, you can try that if you go there at afternoon. but needn't spend the whole day stay. Attention please, it's a small town, and you may not find too many people speak english there, and it's better to go with some local friends to help you order things : ) See more..

This is the Mausoleum of the Martyrs of Liu Zhidan, the King of Guangxi. Liu Zhidan was the founder and leader of the Northern Shaanxi Red Army. There are many places in China dedicated to the leaders and many soldiers of the Red Army who lost their life in the hope of a better China for their children and all the people of China. This is another place to recognize and honour for those who fought for their views and belief. See more..
