4.5Muddy's Playground(1.455 reviews) - Great Brekkie Spot Friday: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM Playgrounds
Muddy's playground is open every day of the year between 9am and 7pm (including public holidays and weekends). Sections of Muddy's are closed for maintenance on Tuesday and Thursday mornings until noon. Even when maintenance works are being carried out, Council aims to have at least half the playground available for use. Muddy's is a modern, fun, safe, splash playground and parkland. It incorporates active, passive, interactive and educational facilities with a combination of play equipment. Muddy's playground is themed "Life in Trinity Bay" and the playground includes water play areas plus a flying fox, sound chimes, track ride, rope bridge, slides, play houses, story telling areas, see-saw, trick track and puzzle games. Please note that the disabled-use Liberty Swing uses the MLAK national keying system. For access please ask at Muddy's cafe. Muddy's has two toilet facilities one at the north end of Muddy's near the cafe and one at the southern end of Muddy's. Muddy's has barbecues, picnic tables and an on-site cafe.See more..
4.5East Shores Water Park(194 reviews) - Well designed waterfront precinct Spent 1-2 hours Playgrounds
Just to be clear, this is a waterfront precinct rather than a water park. I decided to check it out during my 1 day stay in Gladstone & started with coffee & breakfast of yummy pancakes at Familia across from the entrance to the East Shores Parklands first. There is lots going on here to see, the highlight being the HMAS Gladstone (a decommissioned Navy boat that now houses a museum, which was closed when I visited). There are also views out over the river mouth, a boardwalk, you pass Little Sea Hill Lighthouse and there are bbq areas, a water playground for kids and some great community exercise equipment for those keen, as well as a maritime museum. It was better than I expected and I spent quite a while looking around and reading up on the history of Gladstone scattered around the parklands on signage plaques.See more..
4.0Kershaw Gardens(135 reviews) - Great park and play area!! Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 1-2 hours Gardens • Scenic Walking Areas • Playgrounds
Kershaw Gardens has been described as Rockhampton’s big back yard for all people to enjoy. These magnificent gardens stretch one kilometre parallel to the Bruce Highway and provide an attractive, peaceful setting within North Rockhampton. Enjoy the spacious parklands with walking tracks, play areas for the kids and spectacular photo opportunities including a magnificent waterfall. This is THE PLACE to stop if you have children! Since 1988, the Gardens has undertaken a number of significant changes, but none more so than the redevelopment of the Central section which was finalised in the winter 2018. Built for families, parties, small events and outdoor activities the central section of the Kershaw Gardens is a must do. Don't miss: Wyatt's Wonder Web: Originally designed for New York’s Central Park, Wyatt’s Wonder Web includes five levels of play for kids and adults too. It has obviously been a well thought out construction that weaves around the beautiful tree without causing any harm to it. I thoroughly loved ❤️ this place and would definitely recommend you pay it a visit!See more..
4.0Storm King Dam(45 reviews) - Lovely place for a kayak mid week Spent 2-3 hours Bodies of Water • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Playgrounds
Great place to kayak. We called in during our stay at Ballandean, had the dam to ourself. Excellent kayaking, beautiful bird life and waterway. Easy to put in any boat of vessel, calm and peaceful good spot for a picnic.See more..
It's a small council run water park for smaller children which I quite liked as it meant the older children would not dominate the smaller children in their play. But that wasn't a problem on the day we took the children. Only one other child and whilst initially the tipping bucket scared the 5 year old, his bravery and the desire to get in and slide won out and an enjoyable time was had.See more..
Being the mature guys that we are we went and had some fun at the Mount Isa Family Fun Park on a warm-ish day about a week ago. There is something for everyone here, splash pads for the kids, barbecues which we used and had great burger lunch, sensory garden and excellent toilets. We spent about 3hours here running around, playing in the green space and splash park areas, I like the rubberized pads and information about the recycled water systems. Fun time for sure even with some of the parents and “adults” around who gave us funny looks for being awesome.See more..

5.0Anzac Park(14 reviews) - Beautiful light show @ night Spent < 1 hour Parks • Gardens • Playgrounds
I was staying on Flinders St within walking distance of Anzac Park and came across the bright lights at the fountain as I was coming down Wickham St. The fountain is the centrepiece of the park. It was a magical place and I spent a while mesmerised by the light show. The colours change from red to blue to green, even rainbow. There is also a gazebo inside the park and I met a friendly possum there who seemed fine with humans. Well worth a stop off after dark.See more..

Tiaro, located twenty seven kilometres south of Maryborough, makes for a convenient and slow paced rest spot. The main highway passes right through the middle of Tiaro, there are a few stores, a good cafe, Tourist Information Centre but the Memorial Park right next door is a good place to stretch your legs, use the toilet facilites, electric barbeques, a playground or to learn a little about the local natural treasures, the Queensland Lung Fish and Mary River Turtles. There is a nice display of information on these creatures and a life size statue of the Mary River Turtle overlooking the park and highway.See more..
4.0Garnet Lehmann Park(8 reviews) - Great place to take your dog Parks • Playgrounds
Playgrounds, barbecue facilities and skateparks have been closed following the outbreak of the coronavirus. This will be reviewed following recommendations and advice provided by the State and Federal Governments. Garnet Lehmann park is a popular park which forms part of the East Corridor. It links the Water Bird Habitat to the south with Lake Annand and Joseph Leadbetter Park to the north. This park has three different areas including a children's playground and seating, a native bushland area which couples as a detention basin and a designated dog off-leash area. The 2.8 ha, un-fenced dog-off leash area is a popular area for park users to exercise their dogs. This shaded area is located between the children's playground and the detention basin. Dogs have access to water play with West Creek being located adjacent to the park. The dog off-leash area is designated by signage and bollards.See more..

Lake Annand is one of Toowoomba's feature parks. It includes a large man-made pond that has been landscaped into an attractive water area including a fountain. The tranquil lake is a focal point of the park and this combined with the lush green lawns and gardens surrounding it makes for a beautiful park outlook. This, coupled with barbecue facilities and amazing children's play areas, makes the location a popular one for picnics, get-togethers and small events. It is also popular for wedding photos and is home to two significantly large-based Queensland bottle treesSee more..

Turn immediately right at the pub as you head out of town. The park is clean with plenty of parking. There's a skate park about 50 meters from the park itself. The playground looked like fun with the area clean and complete with a path that would suit a wheelchair. Public toilets are clean with male and female toilets, and 1 toilet suitable for a person requiring support rails or wheelchair access. 2 fold down change tables are located in the large multi purpose toilet with the the change tables an ok distance from the toilet. The room is equipt with a tap and sharps disposal unit. EXTREMELY CLEAN! I was so impressed with the cleanliness.See more..
Mr Edkins was known as "The Father of Longreach" and was the Shire's first chairman, a position he held for 15 years. He was Chairman of the Jockey Club, the Amateur Race Club, the Longreach P & A Society and many other committees in the town. But for us... walking through this park was just lovely … we had been recommended to a local eateries from our motel and … it was walking distance. So we had to walk through this park... and although it was early evening... I had to have a look around. There is a BBQ area here, toilets and a memorial.... and it's located on the main road as you go through town...so it's easy to locate. It's a grand little park and we felt entirely safe walking through it at night.See more..
