This is a must visit if you're in the area and have even the slightest interest in the history of the ANZACS, and colonial history. An incredible, and very detailed collection with many things not found elsewhere. Covers 3 floors with multiple rooms. If you have any questions, simply ask the guys, they are very passionate about the displays and are a wealth of information. It is an overwhelming amount of information really, so be prepared to spend longer than anticipated. Entry is $12 for adults, or for $20, you can get a 'Museum Passport' giving you entry to 3 museums in the heritage precinct (the others are the Bond Museum across the road, and the Story Bank aka the Mary Poppins Museum). Make sure you ask about the medal drawers! So much fascinating history. Awesome!See more..

Zero expectations and it was a huge surprise. We needed to do something for about an hour or so, so that we do not arrive too early for check in time. Remembered that there was some army plane museum on one of the travel shows, or was it on the news? Did a quick google search and the museum was on the way to Toowoomba. So off we went and surprise! So much to see and read and learn. So many aircrafts jam packed in this tiny hangar. There is a full size chinook where you can walk in and hit a button and you get to experience what it is like when it is in operation. Well worth our visit. See more..
Went here with my dad who is a retired ex air force. walking around listening to stories and looking at the photos turned out to be a great couple of hours and the staff were well informed being ex service personal. could be bigger being a defense town but well worth stopping in for a look.See more..
The staff at the museum were very helpful, they were more than happy to explain and pass on information. They also said that if we needed to stay after the closing time they would remain open for as long as we required. A very good museum with many exhibits, well worth a visit.See more..
A very real effort has been made by the organisers and their collection of memorabilia is first class for a regional city. Displays are well laid out and you can see the effort which has gone into the museum. Well worth a visit.See more..

Wow! This is a beautiful, thoughtful memorial to our Service Men, Women and Animals. You wander along the front of a hill past plaques and statues and then you come to a covered shed with a stuning poppy floor and the history of some of the locals who served in the wars. Then there is a beautiful art installation of a glass photo looks out to the Keppel Islands. If you stand just right the islands look like battleships on the horizon of the photo. Well worth the time to walk this path, regardless of the weather.See more..
