Memorable experience to spent time with elephants

Great visit , but too hot and humid
We visited this elephant sanctuary in Mid October 2022 with my husband. I booked our guide Zali who was recommended in the previous comments. He was wonderful and super enthusiastic about his job. He worked with elephants for over 40 years. He picked us up from our hotel in KL and dropped us off in the evening , be ready to spend entire day on this tour , we left at 10/30 am came back at 19:00 pm . We paid 550 MYR for the whole day tour with car / gas / snacks . Most of our money were spent on the medications for elephants. You need to understand that you will be closely participating in the experience of taking care of the elephants: Cleaning their poo with the shovel Feeding them Washing them Preparing their meal ( carrying very heavy bunches of grass chopping sugar cane with a knife ) If you are not up for this experience better book a regular tour to the sanctuary where you can just see the show and take pics. I loved the experience, but I would never do it again ? Too much work?. It’s very hot and humid, there is lots of mosquitos so take repellent and sunscreen and maybe extra tshirt. It is a proper sanctuary so you won’t see an entertaining show with elephants dancing / painting etc ( that’s torture ) it will be a very basic introduction show. No you can’t swim with elephants in the river anymore, no you can’t hug them , no you can’t ride them. Do not take a one way taxi to the sanctuary , you won’t be able to find a ride back. There is a cafe on the territory of the park , but it’s very small selection and pretty average local food. Price friendly though. Zali can contacted by phone or WhatsApp on 0060176162105

    Unforgettable experience!
We visited this elephant sanctuary in May 2022 with our 3 kids (aged between 8-11yrs). We booked our guide Zali and he was amazing. His knowledge and love for all of the elephants was clear to see. Zali allowed us to have close contact with the elephants: we prepared their food, fed them with our hands and washed them. We managed to take some very close photos which will be great memories for us to treasure. The kids said at the end of the day "this was the best day of our holiday!" If you visit I would definitely recommend booking Zali for a personal tour, as otherwise you aren't able to get the hands on experience and need to see the elephants from a distance. Zali can contacted by phone or WhatsApp on 0060176162105
