    - Lovely Nature

    Grenen image
If you live for and love nature then this is for you This is a unique experience because of the two bodies of water meeting and I was totally mesmerized by watching the waves collide from their each direction. We head sending weather, which helps but we would have gone in any weather. While we were there the seal were playing in the water and that made it be also intriguing to watch their heads bob up and down in the surf. Finally from grenen we walked west to the most northern point in Denmark along the coast and then further to "gammel Skagen" to the sunset point to see the sun go down. We really enjoyed the grenen, the nature and the walk to the sunset. See more..

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - Whether you want to visit the amazing playground with your children, read newspapers, magazines or books, visit the café or simply enjoy the views across the harbour seated indoors or outside - there's always something new to experience in DOKK1, Aarhus' main library, citizens' services - and a whole lot more. Many students meet up to study in the spacious building, and also mothers' and fathers' groups meet up here with their babies on a regular basis. Before you visit, it's well worth checking out the programme (also partly in English). See more..

30ft high sculpture - Man of the Sea. This area of the town is being regenerated. It’s a great stop after Tirpitz. I think it’s all about timing so you can get to play on the statues without loads of crowds. We arrived at 2.30pm and it was empty. The car park is small and has a loo. On the other side of the car park is part of the WW2 Atlantic wall defences See more..

Bl.A.
We came to Raabjerg Mile from a nearby camping by bikes and loved it from the first moment. An extraordinary contrast when the forest suddenly changes into "a desert" is beautiful. We had a nice clear day and no one on the horizon so we could have all this space for ourselves. And boy, it is quite large, I honestly expected Raabjerg Mile to be a bit smaller. Beautiful photos. Voergaard Slot image
History buffs will love this castle-it has everything you could want. Brilliant medieval come renaissance building, artwork, furniture and artefacts that span centuries. The tour was in Danish; however, for none Danes like me an easy to follow detailed written manuscript/guide was provided. No photography is allowed inside but the grounds make some spectacular photo opportunities. The entrance building sells tickets to the castle, refreshments and souvenirs. The space is large enough for modern exhibitions. Danish artist Jim Lyngvild’s work was featured when I went. See more..

  12. 4.5 Jutland Memorial Park (87 reviews)
    - A Fitting Memorial

    Jutland Memorial Park image
Sprawled across a 100m stretch of dunes behind Thyboron's fabulous Sea War Museum are twenty five jagged three metre high granite slabs each bear the name of a German or British ship that was sunk on the night of 31 May/1 June 1916. A twenty sixth remembers the six hundred men killed on ships that survived the battle. Next to each slab are groups of tall white stone figures which one day will number 8645 – the official death toll for the battle. The park is the brainchild of Danish sculptor, Paul Cederdorff and it seems appropriate that this memorial to such an epic fight to he death between England and Germany should be situated on neutral ground. The park is a powerful and beautiful to the men who gave their lives for their respective countries on that awful night. See more..
