Something you wouldn´t expect here

We came to Raabjerg Mile from a nearby camping by bikes and loved it from the first moment. An extraordinary contrast when the forest suddenly changes into "a desert" is beautiful. We had a nice clear day and no one on the horizon so we could have all this space for ourselves. And boy, it is quite large, I honestly expected Raabjerg Mile to be a bit smaller. Beautiful photos.

Largest migrating sand dune in N. Europe
While on an excursion from our cruise, we visited the Rabjerg Mile. It was very interesting learning about it and walking around, up and down, the huge sand dunes. It was so windy, but we trudged up the dunes for the view of the ocean which was nice. I wish we'd had more time there to walk down to and along the beach. It was a great Denmark moving landmark to see.

    All time favourite
This is a simple yet breathtaking display of nature and it’s force. How this massive sand dune is slowly moving across the land driven by the relentless western wind, and how it crushes everything on its way. How the locals let it and respect it is astonishing, anywhere else it would have been stopped or attempted stopped! Not in Nordjylland.... amazing, stunning, and absolute must!
