It is nice and educational visit specially for the kids. Actually, I liked the birds section - paying with parrots ... we spent 90 minutes, feeding and taking pictures of them - so cute and lovely.. Bei Shan Park was one of the highlights to my visit to Jilin City. There are at least three temples on the gentle climb to the top of the hill. The views from the top are wonderful. Cost is 5 RMB entrance. It is also worthwhile visiting again at night. Although the hill park is closed (no entry fee) the views of the park lit up in many colors are gorgeous. It is very interesting to see hundreds of Chinese dancing around the large entrance area, others are in skipping groups. Well worth a visit.See more..

A private tour helps tourists to find out a place better. This is particular the case for my trip to this town. Very impressive hygiene standard, particularly clean public toilets, honest local people, local traffic management, sceneries' traffic control, and environmental protection are truly processional. I believe the achievement doesn't come in a matter of days, it takes a long time to progress to where they are at today. The long queue during peak season is a headache for everybody. I don't know how to improve but clearly there's room for it. In this respect north Tianchi is better organised than west.See more..

I had planned to go to a museum nearby but it was closed so I happened upon this park. It was full of people doing line dances, formal ballroom dancing to Chinese music, people singing, and people playing cards. I was immediately invited to dance and, when I declined, a new friend motioned for me to sit by her. She picked up her accordion and began to play for me. Because I'm a tall blonde, lots of people wanted to take pictures with me; everyone was so nice! It was a beautiful summer day with ice cream vendors, a beautiful pagoda, an amusement park, and a lake where you could rent paddle boats. I felt like I was experiencing more of Chinese life and culture than I ever would have in the museum.See more..

It's a bit far from the downtown, but it's nice. Wherever you are along or with friends - you will find what to do. Amazing place for taking pictures, enjoying the landscape. E-bus trip is available for 20 rmb. Lot's of shops with snacks&water are at the territory. Boating is available as well. To the right from the main entrance you can find an awesome Temple. Its territory is also huge, so you might need another day to come.See more..

We went there mid March and it was still full of snow - and no-one manning the entrance - so we walked in for a little bit, but it was dangerous as the paths hadn't been cleared. However, driving from the train station to Lafa Mountain, was also beautiful - roughly 50rmb each way. Then there is a cable car you can take once on the mountain that is 60rmb return. There were no signs siaying when it opens, however, guessing by the snow, maybe at least early to mid April. We will definately go back for the whole experience in a few weeks time. Make sure you take the train to JiaoHe West. From the station it is maybe 20-30 mins... maybe even faster as when we went it was still snow and ice everywhere.See more..

Our tour included a visit to the park. Right after the visit to the Changbaishan scenic spot and on our way back to the hotel. We had a stop there for 20 minutes. It was a small park with plenty of pine trees grown there. The pine trees seemed to be the only plantation grown in the park. The tree trunks were tall and brown in color. After a few minutes walk on the path, with tall pine trees by your sides, and a glimpse of setting sun through the woods gave you a feeling of calmness. We found a small mushroom on the grassland....... We took some pictures and then left.See more..

Narenhan Park is the kind of place that locals love to frequent but tourists should not go out of their way for. It is a nice spot to get away from the bustle of the city, with wide open plazas and long, winding pathways good for walking or jogging. Visit Narenhan Park to see local people strolling, dancing, roller-blading, dog-walking, etc. The riverside path stretches along the Songhua, and the interior paths are lined with random sculptures and cultural displays. A statue of Genghis Khan on horseback marks the epicenter of the park, just inside the main gates. You can enter the park from various points along Waitan Road, as there is no admission fee.See more..
