    We visited on recommendation of lonely planet and it was amazing! The snow covered ruins looked very beautiful and suitably dramatic and most of the signs featured Chinese, English, Korean, Russian, and Japanese. The explanations were simple and there was lots to see and walk around. The minus 0°C temperatures didn't affect our enjoyment at all and whilst we may have missed some of the slight details due to the snow the entire area was gorgeous. Be careful of the paths though, as snowfall in the North is pretty heavy and can obscure the paths borders. All in all a brilliant place to walk around and explore for an hour and a half to a few hours depending on interest levels! See more..

    日本史の教科書でおなじみの碑文。市街地からも近く、そして東アジアでもこの時期（５世紀前後）の政治情勢が記されて文字資料は極めて稀であることから、古代史上重要な史跡とされている。碑文にある半島南部の倭国勢力を好太王が討ったとする箇所については日本陸軍が改ざんしたとする論争があったらしいが、現在は否定されている。この山間部に東アジアの古代史解明のカギを握る重要な碑文が残されていることに驚く。
