Amazing experience
Going onto winding metal stairs, you walk all the way to the top of this 57 meter high light house, one of the tallest of the wadden islands. Inside the lighthouse there are small exhibitions on each floor. Loved it!

Perfect destination for a bike trip
We visit Ameland on a regular basis and always use the light house as our destination for our "around the island" bike trip. We have a Irish coffee at "Onder de vuurtoren", then we have a herring at Metz in Hollie and finally an ice cream at the mass boerderij. All together that makes up a great trip. Vuurtoren is well worth the climb. Note that at gale force wind you can feel the tower shaking a bit.

The lighthouse of Ameland
Beautiful lighthouse. If you have the chance go climb it! While you climb it there are a couple of small exhibitions. The view is amazing!
