Things to do & places to visit in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, United States

Port Saint Lucie cover image
For a town that was no more than a fishing camp and a few farms fifty years ago, Port Saint Lucie has grown to be a lovely vacation spot. Port Saint Lucie is the location of the spring training camp for the New York Mets. Visit Tradition Field and see how the team is shaping up for the coming season. Then, if you love to golf, head over to the PGA Village, a 51-hole complex with a learning center and historical center. To the east of Port Saint Lucie is the Atlantic Ocean, so you'll want to schedule at least one day for the beach. Port Saint Lucie is also located just north of the Saint Lucie River, so you can explore the beauty of the river region on the St. Lucie River Princess. You'll cruise in comfort and be taken by the breathtaking scenery of natural Florida. The cruise is shaded from the sun and narrated for your education and entertainment. Cruises start in the afternoon, so you can spend a leisurely morning first. You can also explore nature on foot by hiking in the Savannas Preserve State Park. The park also offers canoe trips and guided explorations. No trip to Port Saint Lucie would be complete without a visit to Lily's Cafe. It serves great food at great prices. If you're lucky, Lily herself might be your waitress. If you're feeling more exotic, El Cubanito serves Cuban cuisine in a family atmosphere. Other restaurants include seafood, Indian cuisine, and American cuisine.

Treasure Coast Model Railroad Club image
I have visited the Railroad Club a few times and I continue to be blown away by their dedication to detail. The ever-changing layout is a sight to behold and the volunteers spend hundreds of hours of their time planning, building, and perfecting this huge train platform. Whether you are a model enthusiast, train enthusiast, or are simply looking for something to do while in the area, I highly recommend the Treasure Coast Model Railroad Club! Bring your children/grandchildren/nieces/nephews-they will be entertained and intrigued by the tiny details of the layout. Although not an official Autism Speaks “Autism-Friendly Designated Company,” some of the volunteers have been trained on Autism Spectrum Disorder and understand the needs of those on the spectrum. The volunteers are knowledgeable and enjoy sharing the fruits of their labor with others. No fee to enter but they do accept donations. Fantastic summer family field trip! See more..

    Clover Park image
We always attend a game here when visiting my folks in Vero Beach. It’s only a 30-40 minute ride. Great family event especially for the price. Took my family and my parents to a Saturday night game. Can’t be $14 a seat for section 11, 6 rows from the field. Concessions are reasonable too. Lots of family involvement and giveaways. Both of my sons received bobble heads, comic books, wrist bands, etc, all for free. We were a little disappointed the fireworks were cancelled, but all the free stuff clearly made up for it. See you next year. See more..

Billy runs a safe operation that creates a fun and adventurous atmosphere for the whole family. The preserve has the grave of some of the settlers, some short hiking trails and even an Ais Indian mound that dates back some 2000 years. Superplay USA image
Although the young guy at the front desk was a bit sour in his demeanor, the young girl was super nice! As a family we enjoyed our bowling experience. At one point we didn’t notice that we could bowl the ball and we did and some guy in the back made a ‘what the heck’ gesture... TWICE!! It was pretty rude!!! The arcade was also fun but the guy at the ticket counter spent a good amount of time on his cell phone and then proceeded to rush my son with his selection with his words and his facial expressions. The bathroom and the rest of the establishment was clean and updated. We won’t return because of the staff! See more..
